Richard Widmark is on hand to narrate this eerie tale that’s a showcase for the power of radio sound effects.

Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?
For ten years on radio as The Shadow, Bret Morrison knew. Morrison, a cabaret singer and actor, starred on radio as “Mr. First Nighter” in The First Nighter Program, but he is best known for his ten years as radio’s invisible crime fighter, The Shadow. Morrison played the role from 1943 until 1944, then returned to the series in 1945 and remained until the show left the air in 1954. For generations of radio listeners, Bret Morrison was the Shadow.
