Being Bret Stiles in that meeting in Malibu must have been pretty funny, actually. "Take out your weapons and place them on the floor." *opens his jacket to show that he doesn't have any weapons because I DON'T GO HERE PATRICK*. but also what a story to tell. I mean, he probably would have known that Jane wouldn't kill him (intentionally).

Just thinking about Bret Stiles, who's honestly one of my favourite characters. I love the dynamic between him and Jane and I also really enjoy the scenes with him and Van Pelt. But what really sells the character for me is Malcolm McDowell's performance. It's simply phenomenal and every time I rewatch the show I get very excited when he shows up. His performance manages to hit the perfect balance between charismatic and creepy, and it's almost magnetic to watch.
