The UPS deliveryman likes to cut and run here, tossing packages against doors and disappearing before anyone knows he’s been by. Today the *thud* was particularly loud. I was surprised by three boxes. The first two contained The Book of Speculation. My copies. (Other people’s copies if I ever stop petting the covers.) The last contained a gift from the spouse.
The bookseller in The Book of Speculation is an elderly man named Martin Churchwarry, of Churchwarry & Son Antiquarian Bookseller. Horseshoe crabs are also an important recurring theme. And coffee… is how I wrote this book. The spouse contacted Brewsworthy (the owner is the brother of a dear tumblr friend, helms-deep) and had them make a custom label of my favorite blend for me. That’s six pounds of someone being thoughtful.
Some writers hole themselves up for a year when writing, barely speaking to anyone, a book coming over them like a fever. I couldn’t manage that. My book was written by my family, the husband-like appendage (as I call him), and everyone who bore with me, made accommodations for me, and gave me the room I needed to figure things out. It’s you writing a book, true. But everyone around you writes it with you, by giving you love and space to be the total bastard you sometimes need to be. And by giving you coffee.
So, pardon me. I’m going to spend the next few hours rubbing books against my cheek, drinking *my* coffee, and being grateful.

My father is currently drinking brewsworthycoffee at LoCo Artisan Coffee House in Colorado.
He’s driving cross country, and told me yesterday he decided to stop and spend a day to relax near Denver. I told him I knew a place he should check out.

Last week, we told you about our Loveland 2014 Valentine's Blend. But we know all too well that for some of you, Valentine's Day is not a day of celebration. LOVELAND -- The owner of a coffee shop in the works in downtown Loveland says the coffee will be just a ruse to bring attention to the community's artistic riches. Which isn't to say that Tom Helm doesn't believe that his coffee is very, very good.
