“I have to admit that I have never been to a garden party before. Not even in the beautiful garden of my palace.”
And he felt entirely overdressed indeed. With the golden necklace and bracelets, the golden sheer fabric that crossed his bare chest. His father made it a point to always dress like you were graced in Ra’s sunlight. At least he wasn’t entirely decked out in his traditional Pharaoh attire. At least he was wearing pants. He grabbed a drink, looking around the party.
“What does one do for a garden party?”
Eilidh couldn’t get over just how beautiful Versailles was, of course she wished that the reasoning for her being there was different, but it didn’t stop her appreciating the amazing architecture of the ancient palace. “This is going to sound weird, but I am obsessed with the ceilings here.”
He wasn’t sure what time it was, but the summit was quiet, when he made his way down to the kitchens. Only a couple of guards here and there, giving him curious looks when he passed them, but otherwise it was quiet - and he welcomed it.
He flicked on the lights in the kitchen, running his hand though his short hair as he leaned against the doorframe trying to shake the images from his mind before he made his way into the room for real and started to rummage through the cabinets and fridge.
“You know it’s not very nice to be lurking in the dark and watching people bake muffins [add in proper greeting here eg your highness/your majesty],” he announced after a while, glancing to the open door where the other stood watching him. “The first batch is almost done so why don’t you come in and have some while you’re here?” he pointed at the stool across from him. nimet couldn’t help it. she looked at every woman she knew were unmarried, wondering if they were in talks with her family to get engaged to her. she didn’t know anything about her, the woman her family was selecting for her, but she knew she’d be here at some point. was she already here? would she come later? she looked at the women, not sure what she was even looking for. the other woman wouldn’t know they were to be married either, surely? she sighed, a little too loudly, in frustration and then noticed someone near her. she didn’t want to appear annoyed or as if the person near her was annoying her and so she turned to them with a smile. “it is quite warm in here, isn’t it?” she said, to cover her sigh up as one of slight discomfort at the room temperature.
