BIOGRAFÍA La banda Pimps Of Joytime vio sus inicios en Brooklyn, cuando el líder, cantante y guitarrista de la banda Brian J comenzó a trabajar con el David Bailis, multi instrumentalista y productor en el 2005. Junto con ellos actualmente integran el grupo Mayteana Morales y Kim Dawson, en voces y percusión, y John Staten en los tambores.

El espíritu de la banda y sus aportes musicales se lo debe en su gran mayoría a la escena dance de Brooklyn que los vio emerger en sus shows en vivo desde 2007 con su primer álbum High Steppin, muy bien recibido por las críticas por sus aportes a la escena soul, funk, punk, afro-beat y rap.
Luego lanzaron el álbum de remixes Funk Fixes and Remixes en 2008, donde daban cuenta el interés de la banda en combinar su música con otros artistas y diferentes géneros y y Janxta Funk! en 2011 con una de sus canciones más escuchadas, “Janxta Funk!”.
Sus discos cargados de un funk convirtieron a la banda en una máquina de groove aprobada por una de las audiencias más exigentes del género, como la de Brooklyn. Desde entonces hasta hoy han invertido muchísimo tiempo y energías propagando su sonido en vivo, tanto que en 2012 hicieron sacudir cuerpos en más de 100 clubes y festivales en Estados Unidos.
Recién en 2015 lanzaron su siguiente álbum Jukestone Paradise, con mucho aporte del sampler y los sintetizadores para crear una atmósfera mixta entre el funk y el dance.
THIRD WALL CHRONICLES (2017)
El 24 de Marzo de 2017 lanzaron Third Wall Chronicles. En sus 10 diez canciones la banda se mantiene fiel al estilo que los vio crecer e identifica desde sus inicios, comenzando con “This Funk (Give Me A Hand)” y bien arriba con los coros femeninos. En “Play” suenan más renovados con el sintetizador sumando dance y la combinación con las guitarras, trompetas y teclados, que siguen el cauce funky del disco. También tiene pasajes suaves como “On Tap” y “Little Bit Of Something” donde la banda y el cantante desplegan sus virtudes en el soul romántico, con algo caribeño. El álbum termina con “Joytime Radio” donde los Pimps guitarrean y rockean como saludando y despidiéndose hasta el disco que vendrá.
