30 Days of Writing: Snowflake

For the first eight years of his life, Brian never saw snow. It was only after his family moved back to the US (his dad never explained why he had left for so long in the first place) that he had a white Christmas. Even today, he always got a small shock when he saw the first flakes of winter.

30 Days of Writing: Restless

The first thing that Brian ever noticed about Garrick was that he was an incurable fidget.

Standing in a line in the gym with the rest of the recruits, trying to get them trained up in hand to hand combat, Garrick was always picking at his nails, shifting his weight from foot to foot, or looking around like an overgrown bird. At the time, it seemed overly appropriate, almost funny that a superspeedster would be a fidget.

As he felt Garrick’s hands shaking as he raced them back to headquarters, blood trickling from all of his orifices and his skin peeling off like boiled chicken, it didn’t seem quite as amusing.
