26 years today since Dad passed away in car crash just outside Hunterville on his way to photograph Mt Ruapehu erupting. He left behind a legacy of images and books that he wrote or took photos for. It’s only now all these years later we are emotionally in a place where we as a family are ready to open that box and begin work on an retrospective exhibition. His work was amazing and back then there wasn’t a thing called photoshop. He was as much a technician as he was a creative being able to see artistic and beautiful compositions in nature. He was a champion for the environment and I remember him sending his book Neath the Mantle of Rangi and a stern letter to prime minister David Lange. He marked up the book with pristine places he photographed that had since been logged or destroyed. He had so many ideas for more books and was working on three at the time of his death including one on Ruapehu, lichens and a book with Witi Ihimaera. I miss him every day but am so proud of what he achieved as well as being a super great human and Dad 💚 #brianenting https://www.instagram.com/p/CUQx0_hBDyu/?utm_medium=tumblr
It’s pretty awesome when an old friend sends you a photo of their lockdown activity that involves things created by your parents - a cup of tea in a pottery mug made, glazed and fired by Mum, and Dad’s book ‘Seasons in the Forest’. #lockdown #warmfuzzies #brianenting #sallyenting #pottery #photography https://www.instagram.com/p/B_RaFyEJrTF/?igshid=1dp8mhu27lbq6
