Succumb to The Darkening of the Crystal 💎 More images to come this weekend, of my Goblin Princess fairy wings in a new film color!! Should I call it Dark Crystal? Though these aren't any of the wing designs from the movie or the show, they are one of the designs most influenced by Brian Froud's faeries, as were the retired Kira wings and the Nightshade design that branched off from them. This color with the holes & tatters make these wings remind me of a rogue gelfling who has been infected by the darkening, and I still have Dark Crystal fever after binging the new @thedarkcrystalageofresistance prequel 🤩 Really, I've made no secret that Brian's faeries and his creations that make up the world of Thra (and Labyrinth) have shaped my definition of faerie since I was a kid and to me, that's what faeries must look like and I'm convinced that family has a direct line to faerieland. It makes me so happy to have that world come back to us, taking us deeper into it, with the whole family overseeing its new incarnation & @tfroud heading the team of artists bringing characters we love back to life - and introducing new ones that are now just as beloved! It's a bright spot in a pretty dark world we're experiencing right now and I want to thank them for that 💗 I could gush all night about it but I'll leave more for another post.
