Baatu's friend Briar ( @briar-ffxiv ) is also half Elezen like he is! They had very different childhoods, but they have a connection that's difficult to find in others. Baatu cherishes every recipe, sweater, and moment he gets from and with Briar!

Donovan tilted his head, watching Briar again as the other looked him over. Briar might get a sense that the wolf was curious about him and what he was like. If he was kind enough to help a -giant- wild animal like him... His tail still wagged gently and he leaned into the scratches a little more. He couldn’t help but enjoy the attention while it lasted. He was sure when Briar found out about his Hyuran form, he’d be quite embarrassed. At the least.
His ears perked at the offer of water. If anything, he seemed interested in that! He doesn’t react much to the mention of not having much meat, but at the request he not eat the chickens or sheep... Donovan would ‘nod’ again, following that with a short bark.

"Tch. No. I never do anything I don't want to do." OOC: Ha! Yes. If she needs to blend in and stay on someone's good side (say for a job), she will force herself to make a few exceptions to her 'I don't do anything I don't want to do' rule. If eating foods she finds disgusting will get her closer to stealing an object she wants, she will do that. Also, though she'd never admit it, she would also eat something unappealing if a friend she cares about really wanted her to. Or if she was dared to. Or if she lost a bet. Damn. Actually, looks like there's lots of ways to make her eat stuff she hates. Hope her luck holds and she's never asked to.
Featured above: What Malika hates most: frogs. Please don't feed her toad or frog legs. Also skip the pineapple, if you'd be so kind. She thinks it tastes "okay" but she's allergic to it. Her tongue swells up and feels horribly prickly.
Conversely: Feed her both because it would be funny. :D

headcanon + the moon
Even turns after Dalamud’s fall, there are some nights where Roh looks up at the sky and still expects the second moon to be there. It’s not that she forgets the destruction wrought by the Calamity, though the effects it had on her were less pronounced than those closer to the Carteneau Flats. It’s just that, after a childhood spent looking up into the sky at both, using their light to navigate and track the passage of time, sometimes it takes her mind a moment to catch up to the fact that the lesser moon isn’t where it should be in the night sky.
Far more unnerving to her is any talk of strange shite going down on the moon they’ve got left. A few friends of hers ( @tyhezokhazzi and @errantmagus) have insisted that it’s possible to go there - Rohesia still isn’t sure she believes them about that, and in the moments she even entertains the notion, thinks that it’d be a terrible fucking idea to go, even if you could. Her feet are staying properly on the ground where they belong like a sensible person, thanks much!

After a small gasp, Briar couldn't help but to let out a laugh. Baatu hadn't expected his story of failed attempts to make some simple pastries would come to be so humorous to his company. But Briar's genuine laughter brought wide smile to Baatu's mouth as he inevitably joined in.
