Kelly Andrews is a renowned radical feminist around campus. You’ll probably have seen her shrieking into a loudspeaker on the quad or standing up abruptly in the middle of class to throw her sweater off and free the nipple. She’s definitely a big personality. That’s why it’s not surprising that, when she decided to host a party, everyone on campus was sure to know about it. A bonfire extravaganza based in the woods behind the school grounds. It’s advised to wrap up warm and bring your own booze, although there’ll be plenty of kegs set up around the fairy light strung clearing to keep you good and dizzy.
There’s only one rule, though.
The price of admission?
One item belonging to an ex.
The main aim of her party is to advocate for freeing women from the shackles of men, as Kelly so adamantly proved by hurling her ex-boyfriend’s prize collection of U2 vinyls into the crackling flames and prancing around the melting aftermath like a woman possessed. However, students of all gender binaries and sexuality are welcomed with open arms. Think of it as a ‘long live independence’ party.
What? This will be a dashboard based event stretching over the weekend, although we will also be hosting a chat on Friday night as a fun way to have all students mingling at once.
Who? All students on campus will have heard of or been invited to this party.
When? The dashboard side of the event will be stretching from 6pm EST on Friday the 20th until 6pm EST on Sunday the 22nd. The chat will likely be hosted at 9pm EST on Friday, although we’re open to changes should this not be the most widely accommodating time for everyone.
How? Post starters as you usually would to the bridgemont:starter tag, only this time with bridgemont:event006 added on, too. Also, post what your character will be bringing to burn at the event and why. In order to make the most out of this event, we recommend perhaps writing a self para detailing the significance of this item to your character. Look at it as an opportunity to really dig deep and develop your muses past! If you’re short for time, however, you may simply post a photo or edit of the item in question with a small caption explaining who it belonged to and how the relationship ended, or just include mention of the item in your starter. If your character has never been in a relationship, they can burn something of an ex friends or anyone they have bad blood with.
When students first started spotting the flyers, they thought it was some kind of cosmic joke. A sick prank in poor taste by the receding hairline of a man that the events committee call their president. But as whispers got around campus, the truth started to become clear.
Pinned to every noticeboard within a five mile radius is a scorching pink flyer that looks like it was clipped straight off a flamingo’s wing.
Speed dating.
And yes, in case you were wondering, the faculty is making this compulsory.
It’s no secret that Bridgemont is struggling for funds, so this is one of the many desperate attempts on the staff’s part to scrape up donations in any money making scheme they can cook up that won’t involve a lawsuit.
It’ll be taking place in the gymnasium, odd velvet booths borrowed from the local antique warehouse set up like it’s a sophisticated saloon instead of a decrepit old school building. Disco ball twirling, flasks clutched desperately under the tables by students trying to keep themselves sane and dedicated organisers screeching for them to move on to the next date every five minutes like disgruntled cattle, the entire student body is in uproar.
Shine your boots and touch up your lip gloss, romance is going to be in the air of Bridgemont on Friday night even if it means Cupid has to hunt students down from the rooftops like Daryl picking off the walking dead with his trusty crossbow.
Will you try your best to keep your dates entertained? Flash a charming grin whenever the time calls for it? Or will you deliberately don your ugliest sweater and make the whole evening an unfathomable hell for everyone you encounter?
It’s up to you. The only thing that isn’t is showing up. That, sadly, is indisputable. On the bright side, though, there’s ‘free’ wine as a treat for the five dollar entry fee.
What? This will be a dashboard based event.
Who? All students.
When? In character, this will be taking place on Friday the 6th starting at 6pm. Out of character, this event will be starting at 6pm EST Thursday 5th December until 6pm EST Sunday 8th January.
How? Post starters as you usually would to the bridgemont:starter tag, only this time with bridgemont:event005 added on, too. You can decide whether your muse will have been allocated a booth to stay seated in or whether they’ll be one of the students moving along the conveyor belt. Either way, it doesn’t matter too much, as you’ll be able to interact with everyone in both positions. As always, we’d love to see some aesthetics or anything you fancy to show what your characters will be wearing! The dress code is typical date attire so it would be fun to get some sort of insight into what your character would typically wear in a romantic setting such as this.
Ronan stood behind the worn wooden bar, marked up by one to many parties of the past. A pounding baseline played in the background as people began to make their way into the basement of the house. He was wearing a snug white t-shirt with a forest green flannel stolen from his roommate's closet. With a devilish grin he slapped his palms on the counter as a body approached the bar. “Alright, I’m playing bartender tonight. We have a lot of beer and a small variety of cocktails to choose from. Please keep in mind I am merely a man and I’m mainly working with vodka, orange juice, and grenadine. All tips will go to future fiestas.”
“Tequila shots aren’t nearly as fun without the lime and salt,” Sophie shuddered, a grimace on her face and she downed the second shot. The burn of alcohol was never something she became accustomed to. “Okay, I call a rematch. The alcohol will only make me a stronger competitor.”
It felt like only a few minutes of the party had passed and everyone in sight seemed to be somewhere between buzzed and passed out. Whether it was the pills or the mix of smoke and spray paint in the air, something had brought the party to the next level, and it had barely begun. Cass, to her credit, wasn’t all that drunk or high...yet. That could very well change with the person near her. Given the mix of outfits, it was almost hard to tell who was a pimp and who was a hoe, but either way, she tapped them on their shoulder. “Hey, do you want to hit some of the other rooms? I’m pretty sure there’s something set up that we can do...And if not we can make something fun happen. Pretty please?” She gave a small pout for extra effect, one that would surely contrast with her outfit.
