Rosemary loved being able to just sit downtown and enjoy the fresh air. There was something relaxing about it, even when there was a hustle and bustle of people going around. She had just missed Bridgeport and the way that the town felt like an extension of herself. “I can’t believe that summer is almost over.” She said with a small sigh to the person beside her. “It won’t be long now until the leaves are changing colors.”

She’d made a promise. One she intended to keep, though considering how insanely busy she’d been, it had been put on hold until this last week of the month to be able to fulfill. All her daughter wanted was a little visit to the pumpkin patch again, nevermind that the child had already been with a myriad of other people including her brother, grandparents, friends, and more— still, Mila had promised to take her, and Mila never broke a promise to her daughter. 

Waiting on the outskirts of the pumpkin patch with a coffee in hand, the mother watched her daughter pick out yet another pumpkin to take home to carve (or talk someone else into carving). “ONLY ONE, FREYA!” she called out. The front step of her liberty hills property is already covered in a variety of gourds. “she’ll buy out the entire farm at this rate.”

The autumnal breeze was a welcome rush of cold morning air, waking up the very nerve endings on Eleanora's goose-bumped skin. She warmed herself with a sip of her cappuccino and momentarily lifted her gaze from her book while a particularly strong gust of wind rustled the pages, losing her place. "Hell," Eleanora muttered, setting her mug down and leafing through the pages, scanning for familiarity. She looked up again, a new voice more of an unwelcome surprise than the morning's gusty winds. "Just some research for work," She says politely, though she's not sure she's heard them correctly above the bustle of the cafe.

Harmony was utterly lost, which was embarrassing for her to admit. For someone who had lived in New York City for so long, this little town was now giving her some problems. She looked around until she spotted someone who seemed to have some sense of direction. Harmony approached them slowly with a smile on her face. “Excuse me, do you have a moment?” She asked as she didn’t want to bother someone who was busy. “I think I got myself turned around.” She explained as she didn’t want them to think that she wanted anything too major from them. Harmony wasn’t used to being in a place where people liked to help each other.

Colton let out a small sigh as he was on the side of the road and working on his truck. He knew logically that it was time to replace it, but he didn’t have it in his heart to actually do so. Not when the vehicle held such sentimental value to him. Out of the corner of his eye he saw someone approach him. “You think by now I’d have learned my lesson by now, but here we are.”  Colton said as he tried to locate the source of the latest leak. While he was by no means an expert, he’d learned a lot trying to fix this thing over the years.

“I am thinking of putting on a promotion. Where any consultation with my business comes with a free coupon of some sort. Which got me thinking, it might be interesting to see how many local businesses could get on board with the idea of having some sort of local currency.” Luca replied as he’s heard that sort of thing had worked out in other places. “Sort of like Bridgeport Dollars. You spend them in town at locally owned businesses, and then the businesses can exchange them for cash at town hall. It seems like a good way to keep the economy flowing.”

It was well after closing when Jeremy finally started to make his way out of the office. He sent his secretary home long ago and his partner left when they normally closed at five. It was now almost nine as the man turned off the lights and locked everything up before stepping outside to lock the main door. After he did, he turned to head to his car when he bumped into someone on the sidewalk and held their arm so they wouldn’t fall. “Whoa, there.” He said with a smile. “I’m sorry. Didn’t see you there. You okay?”

“Now see this, is more my speed.” She held up her beer to cheers before taking a generous gulp. “Unpopular opinion, thanksgiving is the best holiday because it’s about food. Family too, but mostly food. No one has to dress up, put out loads or decor or worry about gifts. She was never want to really celebrate holidays anyway, never having a reason to until now. Her daugher being back in her life meant she had reason to get a bit more excited.. “ I went to the halloween dance but left early. It’s all too loud and showy for me. The only thing I like about Halloween is the candy. What about you?”
