Tragic Discovery Leads to Double Arrest in Bright Ivy

On Tuesday, October 12th, 1982, the body of 8-year-old Geno [last name withheld] was discovered near the railroad tracks off Old Willoughby Road.

Preliminary findings led investigators to a property on the outskirts of town. What has since been uncovered is being described as a "house of horrors" by investigators.

“This is a deeply disturbing case that has shocked officers to their core,” said Chief Witkins. “While we cannot undo this tragedy, our priority remains with finding justice for young Geno and his brothers.” Geno’s parents, [full names withheld pending formal charges], were taken into custody following the execution of a search warrant at their residence. Evidence recovered over the course of the investigation has led detectives to believe the parents played a direct role in the circumstances leading to Geno's death.

The suspects are currently being held at the Bright Ivy County Detention Center pending arraignment. Charges are expected to be formally announced within the next 24 hours.

The investigation remains active, and authorities continue to ask anyone with additional information to contact the Bright Ivy Police Department.
