This was probably the first time that Kouki could say that he was lost. Utterly and hopelessly lost.
And he had thought that he was doing so well lately. He hadn't been dozing off into daydreams, since he had been getting much more sleep. And whenever he did get off track, he had been able to catch himself before getting completely lost. He had been consulting his maps and his Pokemon for guidance and had made sure that he didn't end up in the middle of nowhere.
Until he had gone and gotten himself lost after daydreaming. Again.
It was really upsetting, looking around on the current route that he was on, finding that he didn't recognize a single tree or landmark nearby. Bottom lip trembling, Kouki clutched on tightly to his board, trying to keep himself from crying. How could he have been so stupid, so idiotic? He was supposed to be watching where he was going, not getting lost in the middle of nowhere. And he wasn't even lost in a city. At least in a city, he could ask someone for help, or to tell him where he was. But out on a route, he would have to wait until a trainer came down the route before getting help. And he had no idea when that would be.
Pouting, Kouki went to sit down on a nearby rock and sighed. It would be a while before someone came to help him. He was probably better off just following the route until he ran into a nearby town or city. At least then he was guaranteed some kind of result.
It took Kouki a few more minutes of thinking before he finally reached a decision. Standing up, he gave a determined nod before making his way down the route in the direction that he had been going previously before stopping. But not even a few seconds after he began walking, he saw someone walking towards him. Eyes widening a bit in surprised, Kouki's mouth fell open before he began to jog towards the figure, waving his arm to try and get their attention.
On his way towards the person, Kouki began writing down a message so that the person could read it when they came near him. And it didn't take but a few moments before they were in proximity of each other. Hoping to stop the trainer for a moment, Kouki held up his hand to signal the trainer to stop before holding up his board.
[I'm sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if you could tell me where I am? I'm kind of lost...]
