THE NINETEENTH TASK IS: “RECENT GOOGLE SEARCHES”

i am very aware that this is way early in the week to publish the nineteenth task, but, seeing as it’s almost been a complete month and i am The Worst™, it is time for a new one and i was in the mood to type it up. alright, so for this task, just take some screencaps of these recent google searches, and, much like the text post task, choose the ones that’d most apply to your character (as in what they would totally google) and paste them over a screenshot of their fc. if you either can’t find good screenshots of your fc, you don’t have/know how to work a program that’ll allow you to paste recent google search posts over screenshots, or you’re just lazy (i gotchu, boo), feel free to just post the screencaps! you can also use their twitter page! when you’re done, please tag your task with #brightontask19!

TASK 018

THE EIGHTEENTH TASK IS: “TAG URSELF”

brighton is already memey, let’s make it even memier! for those of you who have been hiding under a rock (#exposed) or those of you who just wanna tag urself, here are some examples of the ‘tag urself’ meme (i included a large variety so everyone would at least get one): ( x ) ( x ) ( x ) ( x ) ( x ) ( x ). basically give your character a different name that’s either just a version of their name already (i.e.  oscar WILD), or a way to describe your character in a simple way (i.e. edgelord), and send in 3 – 4 short bullets about them (either through IM or to the steve buscemi blog). if you’d like to include a picture, feel free; try to make it the best encapsulation of your character possible. if you don’t send in a picture, that’s fine... but i’ll be choosing a picture for you, and it’s gonna be the worst picture i can find of your fc. the ‘tag urself’ templates will be pumped out five characters at a time (so for every five sent-in ‘tag urself’ memes we get, one page will be posted and tagged as /tagged/brightontask18). if there comes a time that there are, say, three characters who’ve sent in a ‘tag urself,’ but everyone else has stopped, they will be pumped out together.

TASK 016

THE SIXTEENTH TASK IS: WIKIA PAGE

alright, this one’s gonna be a lot more involved than tasks in the past have been. it’s gonna be hella collaborative. if you’ll look here, you’ll see just why. if you look here, you’ll see an example of what a finalized (or... almost finalized, the bio isn’t that thorough) character page will look like. the aim is to have an almost complete (totally understand if you’re not up for this) brighton wikia... because that’d be hella cool. BEFORE ANYTHING: FOLLOW THIS BLOG. in addition, if you have any questions about the task, steve’s askbox is open. for more information, click below. 

because i don’t want everyone to have to make a wikia account, and because i don’t want everyone to have to figure out how to work the source code, the most important part of this task is going to be filling out the form below and submitting it TO THIS BLOG, not the main (so it’s not confused with apps). once your form has been submitted, steve will enter the data in and make your character a page. as soon as the page is up and nice and neat, steve will post a link to it @’ing your character, tagged as #brightontask16. 

make sure to send a link or attach the photo you want used for your character! the form will be below, but let me tell you what i’ll need from you first just in case you want your character to have a wikia page, but the form looks too intimidating (s2d it’s not, tho it does look that way)/you’re busy/you’re lazy (same man)/etc.

How did you find Brighton? (Most of it was ESP, amirite ladies??)

@okeiisa Liked a post I posted on a roleplayer-helping blog I run. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of Asian characters the RP she’s in, Brighton, had.

How did you come up with this character? Was it a plethora of ideas all combined, one ~sign~, or a spur of the moment that developed into something ~beautiful~?

I’d created a few similar OCs before. They’re fun to write, and it just so happened that I had decided that it was my problem exactly—that roleplaying on Tumblr wasn’t fun anymore for me.

I played “I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance With You” multiple consecutive times—it was the only sufficiently RP-cool song I knew that could be used as conceited muses’ blog descriptions—and…

How did you develop this character this character further beyond an idea?

…did some thinking, imagining… and it happened…?

What’s your opinion on your character? How do you feel about them?

If he were a real person, I’d detest him. Speaking as his mun, however… I love him. I pity him and hope that he stops being unhappy, even though he vexes me deeply.

If you met your character, what would you tell them?

Probably flattering things. He’s self-important and my self-esteem is low.

Do you think you and your character would be friends?

See my answer to the previous question. We’d be Regina George and Cady. (He’s Regina.) “I was a woman possessed. I spent about 80 percent of my time talking about Angelo; and the other percent of the time, I was praying for someone else to bring him up so I could talk about him more. [cut to next scene: I’m talking shit about Angelo.]”

What do you like about your character? What do you dislike?

I like his face and find him entertaining. His fashion sense is better than mine. I’m envious of his family’s stability and socioeconomic class. I hate the secondhand embarrassment that’s unavoidable when you RP egotists, whom I generally cannot stand in real life.

What’s a plot you’d like to execute sometime in the future on your character?

[whispers] Romance. Also, bring the dude family members and more friends.

Is your character like you in any way?

Fuck yes. We’re both massively insecure drama queens.

Has your character changed from when you first began playing them in anyway? If so, how? (i.e. they were supposed to be a jerk, but it didn’t work out)

I originally planned to make him an even more Extra™ individual than he is as he is—yes, it’s possible—but my anxiety wouldn’t let me do it.

THE FIFTEENTH TASK IS: "BREAKING THE FOURTH-WALL”

credit to GEL for this task... and pretty much every single question (though there are some that i added some follow-up questions on... they all have ‘~,’ you’ll know it’s me)! TASK 014

THE FOURTEENTH TASK IS: A RELATED NPC’S BIO

alright, so i’m gonna go ahead and assume you know your character – you know their personality, their background, probably their zodiac sign (Just Roleplayer Things™ #4324: Looking up your character’s zodiac sign!) – but your character isn’t necessarily the only one you’re in charge of. the only one you’re playing? sure, but not the only one who’s of some importance in the story you’re telling with your character. that being said, this week’s task is a related npc’s bio! when i say ‘related,’ i don’t necessarily mean blood-relation – it could be family, but it could also be another npc who’s either had an impact on your character’s life or who you’d like to explore more! just so long as they’ve been in your character’s life and you’re steering the reigns with them, go wild! (brian wazowski’s backstory: the only son of mike wazowski...) when you’re done, please tag your task with #brightontask14!

TASK 013

THE THIRTEENTH TASK IS: A “START-TO-FINISH” PLAYLIST

way back in the days of yore™ (see: about three weeks ago) when i asked you guys what kind of task y’all would like next, most of you voted on a character questionnaire, but it was almost tied with a task similar to our second task – a playlist. this will also be a playlist, but this won’t just be a characterization playlist. the goal of this one is to assign songs to various stages of your characters life, and if you have a headcannoned (because fate works in... ~mysterious ways~) future plan, feel free to include that too! alright... for example, you could section songs either into various age ranges (i.e. 11-14: song, song, song) that are all pertinent to that time in their life, or you could section them into important events in general (i.e. becoming a very successful ceo because brighton is full of those: song, song, song). if you have any questions about this, please let me know! i’m not sure if i explained it very well – i hope i did (whenyoutryyourbestbutyoudontsucceed.mp3)! basically... a chronological playlist of their life. when you’re done, please tag your task with #brightontask13!
