“Do tell me who,” she imitated, sticking her tongue out at him and giving the inevitable eye-roll. Isa momentarily diverted her gaze to the food table nearby and picked up a lumpia, dipping it in sauce before shoving it into her mouth. “I’m not salty or anything, but I was gone for a year too and I didn’t get a party,” she stated as she continued to chew. It wasn’t the fact that she didn’t get a party that annoyed her. It was more about Angelo getting a party that got under her skin. People had always put him on a pedestal, often leading her to always getting compared to him. But at the end of the day, she knew there wasn’t much she could do about it. Over time, accepting this eventually came easier — which was probably a given after being over seven thousand miles away from each other for a good year — but it was moments like this that made it hard to act like she wasn’t irritated with how everyone else seemed to glamorize him. “I overheard some people talking about your show when I was at McDonald’s yesterday,” she said as she reached for another piece of food. “I may or may not have started a rumor that you have really bad body odor. Man, you should’ve seen them cringe, it was actually hilarious.”
“What?!” He continued to speak melodramatically, his voice quite loud. “That isn’t funny at all! You do realize this is my job!” “You know what I think? You’re saltier than daing. Why can’t you be happy for me, Isa? Am I a substandard friend to you?”
’ each reporter who apparently believes my name is “ahn-jul-low meigh-nuh-leigh-sigh” owes me ten dollars. ’
“I am guessing that would be a whole lot of money?”
’ unfortunately. it’s not that HARD, people; and i’ve only taught the world how to pronounce it six times on youtube. ’

michabae:
micha flinched at the thought of being next to this boy who seemed to be famous, her mind automatically thinking of shi hoo. not wanting to be mean, she pulled out her pink notepad and pen to hand to him. “um, here you go, thank you.”
his delight at finally having found someone with genuine interest in an autograph from him was evident. “ you’re welcome. don’t forget to tune in next week! ”

tea blinked for a moment, then proceeded to take a napkin out of her pocket to hand it over to the male. “there, after that, you can explain what you’ve been in because i really don’t know you.”
“ oh. you ‘really don’t know’ me...? strangely, i think i might know you. do you live under a rock? ”

‘hay naku isa — ppl are here na — bilis!’ She let out a sigh as she texted back ‘okay ma’, trying her best to keep calm. Did she want to go to the party? No. Did she have a choice? Of course not. No one even offered to throw her a party when she came back from the Philippines, but when Angelo returns, everyone and their relatives just has to jump at the opportunity. The worst was her own mother. She loved Angelo. She adored Angelo. And when she found out there was a party being thrown for him, she was the first to offer help. Her eyes rolled at the thought, knowing how excited she was to have him back. He’s not even that cool, she’d say in her head. But never out loud. Oh no, never out loud. Then she’d be in big trouble. She’d be shamed for days because all the aunties loved him. He was everything they wanted their children to be: smart, committed, and good looking. And though she felt like she was only one of those things, she had never saw him superior to her. Ever. Sure, he was on TV now. Sure, he had a bright future ahead of him. But at least Isa could lick her elbow. Not many can.
Two hours had passed since the party was supposed to start, which meant people were just arriving now. After taking one last look at her makeup, she used her setting spray then set the bottle down with one last sigh. Now she was ready. She was the last one to leave, meaning she had to drive her own car to the house. And just as expected, she was forced to park a few blocks away from the house, for the cars were all lined down and across the street. When she finally got to the entrance, she was immediately greeted by Angelo’s family. They welcomed her with hugs, kisses, compliments, and the usual ‘do you have a boyfriend yet?’ to which she would kindly respond with ‘no, po.’ But the smile she was forced to wear on her face soon faded away when they mentioned Angelo. They pointed him out in the distance, urging her to greet him. Without a complaint, she nodded and slowly made her way over to male. Did she find him way overrated? Hell yeah. But was he still someone that she truly cared about? It seemed so. Isa got his attention by gently nudging his shoulder and glancing at him with an unamused expression. “Someone’s spoiled,” she said, cracking a small smirk. // @angclo
"Do tell me who,” he answered, false innocence and curiosity on his face.
He did in fact know it was him she was talking about. Months ago, it’d have led to arguing. He was not spoiled, he’d assert. He wouldn’t have thought of it too deeply. He just was not—“spoiled” was bad! He was its opposite’s definition.
Now, he found himself considering the idea. He was spoiled; he’d been spoiled. Is that why...? No. Angelo’s back. He wasn’t going to ruin it for himself. He wasn’t going to let anyone.
He then had something like an epiphany. What did this girl—his “friend”—do to him? He was struggling to recall memories with her that purely were positive.
Frankly, his pursuit of fame wasn’t the success he made it out to be. Frankly, it may have rendered him a “bit” emotionally unbalanced. Frankly, this explained why he was feeling such feelings toward Isa, probably the only person in the room who’d never treated him as though he were some megastar. Frankly, he didn’t care. He began to contemplate severing ties, but couldn’t bring himself to not return her smirk.
nahivy:
“oh yeah – i was thinking my retainer, actually?”
“ your retainer? ” his brief, surprised laughter became a polite smile. “ okay. ”

“ hi there. don’t be shy; i love my fans. do you have anything i can sign? ”
