she didn’t like the thought of this. didn’t like the thought of blindly marching into a war that she didn’t want, that others were speaking against; but she didn’t really have much of a choice. it wasn’t like she, or anyone else, had anywhere else to go. if she didn’t know for certain by then, she certainly knew that whatever happened in that bunker had changed.... everything, and everyone. but as she marched alongside silas into the gorge, she just didn’t know if this was the best idea. if this would workout in anyone’s favor. if they’d truly learned their lesson. “i don’t like this,” she mumbled. to herself, to silas, to anyone who would listen. to no one in particular, really. “i don’t see this ending well for anyone.” maybe she’d just gotten comfortable in the ring, in the safety that space had provided for her in those few years. but it happened in an instant, without much warning, and if she’d seen it coming like he did then she would have been the one to push him out of the way, she would have been the one to take the bullet. to get hit. to be the one confused as he’d been knocked to the ground as dirt began to rise in reaction. but instead, it was silas who’d taken the shot. who’d pushed her out of the way. and it was rapunzel who was confused by it all, until she laid eyes on silas. “n---no,” she whispered as she crawled in his direction, kicking up dust and dirt as she did. “silas, don’t you dare--- you didn’t---- no!” // @brilliantcrafty | no longer accepting.
