This situation has come up from the Mother server I was in, so I’ll say this rn.
I am in NO WAY writing NSFW in my story. I don’t know why this is happening but I’ll say my stance: The M rating on my story is because I have violence in my story.
Brimstone Fire is a dark AU that has violence in the story, I am no way trying to make it sexual with the characters portrayed on the story. I only put in the M rating in that story because Tumblr (and Ao3 mind you) have violence in the M rating. Someone has told me that the M rating could signal to “lewd” and “erotic” fanfic and while yes that’s the case Ao3 put up, the story is NO WAY going to that path. This also includes the topics in the story, some of these topics are mature but they do happen to EVERYONE in real life.
I’m not trying to make this shit weird, I’m trying to be respectful about how I portray these topics. I’m not trying to act weird with these characters, I cherish these characters like I how I cherish them as my own kids, I cherish their flaws, their personalities, their development and overall story. I am in NO WAY trying to make this weird. I don’t want teens coming into my story and looking at it like, “Oh I can handle this” only to be caught off guard my the violence.
If there are people who can’t handle the violence in my story then I would suggest looking the other way and avoiding it.
I’ve apologized about giving people the wrong idea about beforehand, but this wasn’t purposeful either. I’m sorry if I made anyone uncomfortable with the tags, I just wanted to properly tag and make sure people know what they’re getting into.
