NAVY CHIFFON POLKA TEE

This T-shirt was made from a 70's pleated chiffon skirt. Due to the fine texture of chiffon the fabric had started to fade and tear, however it's pleated style meant that there was enough fabric to upcycle.

REWORKED

Shopping for vintage clothing is a unique experience. You always find something that you haven't seen before, and usually come back with pieces that are not on your list. Although there is always a rare classic to be found, there is also a lot of damaged and unwearable pieces. To avoid unnecessary waste we decided to start buying the faulty items as well. Instead of sewing on new sleeves, or changing buttons each piece has been completely taken apart and redesigned. This means that we use our own patterns and can also avoid damaged areas. Our goal is to turn unwearable vintage garments into simple modern designs that are inspired by everyday streetwear classics. Our collection will be made up of simple t-shirts, lightweight sweatshirts and denim trousers. All tops are finished with 100% cotton ribbing which is the only new fabric that we buy, and all trousers are finished with a zip or elastic waistband. We want to promote style over fashion and to provide an alternative to the throw-away culture that high street fashion brands endorse and promote.
