He supposes it’s a valid thought experiment for most of the class, but it’s never been a question for Shoto. It’s the entire reason for his existence. It’s not a question of why; it’s a certainty of the universe. The sky is blue, quirks exist, and Todoroki Shoto is going to be the number one hero. He’s perfectly aware of the danger, but that’s what training is for, and anyway, nothing he’s faced so far has been worse that his father at his most punitive. Hosu had been a difficult fight, but he’d been conscious at the end of it, which is more than he can say for some of Endeavor’s more intense training sessions.

Aizawa levels a stony stare at him. “Eri could kick your ass right now, kid.” Midoriya isn’t cowed, so Aizawa defers to a time-honored tactic: a threat. “If you cannot exercise even that basic amount of judgment, I don’t have high hopes for your future as a hero. Come to class sick again, and I’ll expel you.”

Chapter Summary:

He’s no good at words, not out loud anyway - it’s much easier to bake his feelings, give them away one little pastry box at a time. And what’s so terrible about that? It’s not pity to care for someone, to want to keep them safe and fed and happy. It’s not pity to love someone.

Flint freezes mid-pour. He sets the decanter down on the table with a thud, and it clinks against the half full glass. A realization wends its way through Flint's mind, whiskey-soaked and meandering drunkenly. When it finally reaches its destination, it crashes into Flint with all the grace and coordination of a regular at last call.

He’s in love with Silver.

Summary: Across the street from his shop, perched on the low half wall in front of a nondescript high rise of offices, there is a man playing acoustic guitar. Well, playing is a word for it anyway; it sounds as if the man has just picked up the instrument for the first time today. It’s all clumsy chord changes and out of tune twanging, but that on its own would probably be at least tolerable. Flint’s street is usually quiet, but he’s no stranger to buskers; the more populated streets are full of them when the weather is nice.
