So Gather 'Round and Let Nature Tell Wondrous Stories by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While on a hike along the Devil's Bridge Trail in Coconino National Forest with a view looking to the east with Soldier Heights and Brins Mesa, rising up as an image backdrop. My thinking in composing this image was to use the high ground all around to channelize the viewer into the image, following the trees present in this part of the national forest. The blue skies above would be a color contrast that would complement the more earth-tones present in the lower portion of the image. I later worked with control points in DxO PhotoLab 4 and then made some adjustments to bring out the contrast, saturation and brightness I wanted for the final image.

Brins Mesa. This trail connects with several others out here, and by using topography and GPS, I make a loop out of this trail, weaving up and over rocky mountain peaks and sweeping vistas. It is a…

Day 2 – Sedona, AZ / Brins Ridge
Day 2 - Sedona AZ Brins Ridge was an eventful hike. #CUgeology @cedarville #cvillespringbreak
After breakfast at Super 8, we had a devotional lead by Josh Perez and he shared his thoughts on Job 37:14 (ESV) “Hear this, O Job; stop and consider the wondrous works of God.” Josh encouraged us to just “stop” in our daily activities & just life “and consider the wondrous works of God” around us. It was encouraging & yet challenging even out in this beautiful area of the country. Josh sharing a…
