A Wide Angle View Looking Across Petroglyph National Monument and a Backdrop of the Sandia Mountains by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A setting looking to the east while taking in views across the mountain desert landscape present in the Volcanoes portion of Petroglyph National Monument. In composing this image, I angled my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward and pulled back on the vocal length. I wanted a wide angle view and to raise the horizon higher into the image. That would bring the mountains above center and perhaps minimize some of the flattening that would come from a wide angle view.
