Summary: Peter keeps his children on their toes. Eiji is a very touchy person. Vee is a keeping-people-at-arm’s-length kind of person. Kaien loves her siblings. And Ellis is a little wary of his big brother’s antics.
Eiji couldn’t sleep. It was really rare when he experiences insomnia and what he usually does was to sneak in his little sister’s, Vee, room and cuddle her. Now he was sure he was the very reason why she grew up disliking any kinds of display of attention. Can anybody blame him though? Her hair was pink like bubblegum (and smelled like one, too), he couldn’t control his sweet tooth to just be near the damn thing. He wondered where she had gotten her pink hair. Maybe it’s from their mum. He also wondered where their mum was but he figured that was for another fan fiction to tell. He hasn’t tried sleeping next to his two siblings since they were still little the last time he couldn’t sleep. The perks of having twins for siblings.
He decided to just get up and head to Vee’s room. He grabbed the glass of milk he placed on his bedside table and got out of his room. He knocked on the door of the room next to his and when nobody answered, turned the knob and went in. Vee’s room was very pleasant to the eyes. The walls were painted mint green and the floor was covered by the dark chocolate colored carpet. Everything was in perfect order making him tease her a lot about being obsessive compulsive. He quickly jumped on her pristine white sheets of her bed, forgetting that he was holding his almost empty glass of milk. The contents of the glass poured messily on Vee’s well-loved hotdog shaped pillow she ironically named Hotdog.
“Oh no.”
He gasped when he realized what he did. Hotdog was unfortunately encased in a black pillow sheet so the stain from his milk was very obvious. He heard the door knob turn and hid Hotdog behind him. Ah, good thing Hotdog was a few feet smaller than him. Vee went in her room and frowned when she saw her brother lying on her bed. She suspiciously looked at him before grabbing her toiletries and glared back at him before getting inside her bathroom.
Eiji had already breathed out a sigh of relief when the bathroom door opened unexpectedly making him jump and release Hotdog behind him. Vee’s brow rose and stepped closer to him, picking Hotdog and inspecting her favorite pillow. Her frown furrowed further when she saw the stain and reached out to pinch Eiji’s ear.
“Ow, ow, ow. I really didn’t mean to stain Hotdog! Please let me sleep with you, Vee!”
His pleas fell on deaf ears as his sister proceeded to toss him out of the room. She released his ear when he was finally outside of her room. Eiji smiled sheepishly at Vee and gave her an adorable pout. She grinned widely up at him and closed the door on his face. His face fell and he trudged slowly to the hallway.
Then he remembered that his dad would still up at this time. His smile brightened as he skipped to their dad’s room. He knocked on the door with a very bright grin on his face. The door opened to his dad’s tired face and looked at his grin.
“No.” With that, another door was closed on his face.
Deciding that his dad and his sister Vee were just bullying him, he trudged his way back again. He sighed and opened the door to his room when he saw Ellis peeking from his room. He grinned at him and was about to happily go on his way to convince his little brother that sleeping with him was a good idea when Vee’s door opened.
“Don’t even think about sleeping in Ellis’ room or I’ll kick you all the way to South Africa.” She turned and smiled sweetly at their little brother, looking apprehensively at his big brother who had a puppy look on his face. “Baby brudder; go get some sleep, alright? Do you want me to tuck you in?” She walked towards Ellis and ruffled his hair when he gave her a sleepy nod. “Very well. Come on. Ignore that stupid idiot we call older brother.”
When the door closed, he sighed in relief. He already wanted to sleep. Is it really that difficult to get some with his supposed kind siblings? He wondered if he had been a really bad boy in his past life. Maybe it was because he spilled that Santa Claus wasn’t true to his little siblings. Speaking of little siblings, he still has one sibling left!
He saw Kaien walking towards her room, humming silently to herself. He put his right hand on top of her head and smiled softly at her when she looked up at him. She grinned back at him.
“Do you mind if big brother sleeps with you tonight, Kaien?” Kaien shook her head and finally succeeded on his attempts to sleep. He bent down and carried Kaien towards their room. “I’ll be your stuffed toy for tonight!”
Kaien giggled and seemed to vibrate in her big brother’s arms. “Silly. You’re a person, so you’re a stuffed person.”
Eiji didn’t have the heart to point out that he wasn’t stuffed but decided to just shut the hell up, getting inside Kaien’s girly room. Vee saw Eiji and Kaien went inside the latter’s room and shook her head, a tiny smile playing on her face before she, too, moved to sleep in her room. Locking the door after she closed it. She’ll never know the pervert might come back.
Morning the next day, Peter stretched his arms, yawning. He proceeded to knock on Vee’s door. “Vee, it’s time to get up.” Vee emerged from her room, tying her pink hair in a ponytail. Ellis, rubbing his eyes with the back of his closed fists adorably, was out of his room before Peter could knock on the little boy’s room. Vee held out her hand to him which he took innocently.
“I’ll wake twin up!” Ellis said, perking up. He knocked enthusiastically on Kaien’s room but frowned when there was no answer. Impatient little boy he was, he opened the door and was about to pounce and jump on Kaien’s bed when he saw his big brother cuddling his twin sister. He ran towards them and jumped. “I want to hug too!”
Peter and Vee sighed heavily. She glanced at her father. “To Africa, daddy?”
A few hours later, Eiji woke up with a tall and dark skinned man poked him with his baton. He realized that his clothes were torn and that it was terribly hot in the area. He paled when he remembered Vee's threat. "AFRICA?!"
