Rhiannon, Celtic Goddess of Birds and Horses

So this very lovely book tells me that an amulet depicting Bast was found in Gloucester (England). It doesn't tell me when. It gives a source, "See The Religions of Civilian Roman Britain, Green, 1976, p58, p172" so I go looking for it. That's an archaeological journal that isn't available online, but I can possibly buy it for 30 quid.

DAMN EVERYTHING.

I was so excited, too, since I've been wanting to explore British deities lately and have been wondering how well She would get along if I invited any of them into our lives. I'll still ask Her, but I was so excited at having a historical source to back up my UPG when publicly challenged over it :(

Arguing the Debate

Some people really do start arguments, just so they can argue!!

I post to a page on FB, about British Deities, and I posted about the Welsh Deity Arawn. Someone posted a comment on it, saying it would make more sense if the page was labelled Celtic not British.

I replied simply by stating that it isn't about Celtic Gods, it's about British Gods, not all of which are Celtic.

Whilst I slept, the argument escalated between her and several other people, in which she kept banging on about how Celts weren't just limited to Britain, and that Ireland isn't part of the UK, which Northern Ireland is, it just isn't part of Britain.

At one point she was waffling about how some Celts were Italian, and so I should be including them too! So, I again pointed out to her that the page wasn't about Celtic Deities.

I have a feeling she had her own hidden agenda, and just felt the need to inject some chaos onto a pretty quiet page!
