“This is what I used to do with pregnant women.” Jon stated after adjusting the workout for Niran yet again. “Y/N does it all the time” the older man continued nonchalantly not realising what he’d just implied. “You’re pregnant?” Niran jokingly asked his friend, suddenly forgetting the YouTube video currently being recorded. “Yeah, 12 weeks.” Y/N nodded a small smile finding a home on her face. A baby may have not been in her and Lando’s five year plan but the pair couldn’t be happier. In fact as soon as the pair saw the positive test they’d been ecstatic.
“You can edit that out right?!” the y/h girl asked suddenly panicked. “Yeah why?” Niran asked, adjusting himself on the mat, sitting up to shoot his younger friend a worried look. “Might not be a good idea to tell the Quadrant family before I tell my dad” The young female said hesitantly, awkwardly picking at her jumper sleeve, already imagining the phone call she’d definitely receive. If there’s one thing she’d like to avoid like the plague it was a lecture from her Dad. Even though she’d moved away from the family home back in Oxford her Father still hadn’t really accepted the fact that his little girl had grown up.
“You haven't told your Father!” Jon spluttered, pausing his movements the weights for the next exercise long forgotten. “I didn’t want him to get stressed” the y/e/c eyed girl weakly responded anxiously running a hand through her y/h/c locks.
“Y/N his baby is having a baby he’s going to have a heart attack!!” Jon exclaimed loudly continuing to rant all the colour draining from his face. Scoffing Y/N pulled a face at the older man practically pacing in fright. “You think I don’t know that! He almost passed out when he found out I was dating a racing driver… and then when he found out it wasn’t a Red Bull driver I thought he’d had a bloody aneurysm.” Y/n muttered ignoring the stern glare she was receiving from the anxiously striding older male. “Why’s no one having a go at Lando last time I checked it takes two to make a baby!” Y/N shouted, throwing her arms wildly in the direction of the McLaren driver practically wetting himself from laughing.
“Maybe because I’m not related to Christian Horner…” Lando scoffed a boyish grin settling on his tan features but quickly dropped it once he noticed Y/N’s stern face. “Maybe I should just shut up…” Lando trailed off embarrassment clear on his face. Nodding sarcastically Y/N replied “You think?” sending the Brit a middle finger before walking back into the house ignoring Lando’s pleads and attempts to apologise.
Unclipping Roscoe's harness Y/N couldn’t help but let out a chuckle at the bulldog bolting off in search for his partner in crime leaving the y/h/c woman to remove her damp shoes and coat in the hallway alone. Y/N couldn’t help but miss the days when Roscoe wouldn’t leave her side automatically after a walk but Y/D/N had entwined herself in the small dog's heart since the day they’d met and 6 years later their bond was as strong as ever. “Lew did you turn the heating on?” Y/N called out to her husband following the noise from an old rerun of Top Gear on the tv the only sign of life. “Honestly I get you run warm but it’s really cold” Y/N whined walking into the living room ready to crash on the sofa for at least 10 minutes before worrying about dinner. “I was a little preoccupied babe.” the Mercedes Driver replied, shooting the y/h/c woman an awkward smile.
“We’re playing nail salon Mummy.” Y/D/N stated energetically a large grin on her tan features. “Yeah so I see.” Y/N said back lovingly to the young girl currently knelt at her dad's feet a tight grip on Lewis’ large hands, her small tongue poking out due to her intense concentration. “Don’t start Babe I couldn’t say no.” Lewis defended himself rolling his eyes at the y/h woman trying not to laugh at the sight. Nodding in mock understanding, Y/N perched herself on the edge of the sofa trying to not invade Y/D/N’s space that the young Hamilton had dedicated to her small ‘Salon’. “Did you even try saying no?” Y/N teased her husband tilting her head in silent judgment. Suppressing a laugh the Brit shook his head “Not really…”
“So what colour did you pick Sir Hamilton?” the y/h/c woman asked, placing her head in her hands utterly engrossed with the small family moment. It was nice seeing Lewis unwind while he was home, to see him carefree in their home environment, his eyebrows no longer farrowed in stress or anxiety about upcoming races. Relaxed domestic Lewis was one of her favourites. Shrugging, the man attempted to reach for the small bottle before getting a light smack from the child, still quietly painting each finger nail with care. “Um excuse me” Lewis objected gently, his tone serious but his warm brown eyes giving away he wasn’t really angry. “Daddy stop moving, you're going to ruin my hard work.” Y/D/N groaned loudly ignoring the older man's protest. “YD/N/N is that Mummy’s nail varnish?” Y/N asked, slowly clocking the dark purple bottle. “That doesn’t sound good Y/N. Why doesn’t that sound good?” The Driver panicked slightly, catching his wife's wide y/e/c orbs. Closing her eyes Y/N took a deep breath “that’s the one that stains a lot…” Y/N replied simply. “Hope you like that shade of purple.. You’ll be having it for a while.”
“All done!” Y/D/N yelled happily looking up at the two concerned adults completely oblivious. “Your turn Mummy” the little girl exclaimed, patting the empty space on the other side of the Driver. Chuckling nervously Y/N smiled “I have to make dinner sweetheart maybe later?” leaving the room quickly. Pouting Y/D/N seemed to accept the weak excuse from her Mum. “Where’s Roscoe?” Y/D/N asked innocently, moving to grab a rather electric pink. “No Princess, you can't paint Roscoe's claws.” Lewis declared, grabbing the little girl and sitting her beside him. “He might like it.” Y/D/N proclaimed wriggling against her fathers arms, currently trying to contain her. “He can’t wear nail varnish.” Lewis explained nicely. Crossing her arms Y/D/N rolled her eyes “It’s 2021 Daddy boy’s can wear nail varnish!!” the young Hamilton retaliated a pointed glare directed at her dad. “Not what I meant.. Never mind.” Lewis stopped himself there was no arguing with Y/D/N. “Y/N hide the dog!” Lewis yelled, throwing his head back in defeat. “What? Why?!” the y/h/c woman called back totally confused.
The race calendar had been packed, the event organizers and teams alike wanting to make up for the dodgy season last year thanks to Covid-19. Y/N was glad her career revolved around Social Media and Online campaigns; it allowed her to follow Lewis around the globe rather than practically wait by the door from the moment he left. But even then the y/h woman loved the downtime they shared as a couple between the Grand Prix. It allowed them to fully unwind and spend time with those closest to them, which is how the young couple found themselves at a rented home with some other members of the Hamilton family. The warm sun was definitely more welcomed than the cold dreary weather of England.
“How’s the season going?” Anthony quizzed the Driver although he already knew, Anthony would never miss a race even if he was in another country. Motorsports was one of the biggest thing’s connecting the father and son, most of Lewis’ childhood memories were of the older man always being there to support him. The younger man nodded his head in positivity taking a seat next to his wife on one of the outdoor sofas “Yeah it’s alright Dad.”
Scoffing in jest Anthony pulled a face “6 years and he hasn’t bored you to death yet Y/N?” Rolling her y/e/c orbs Y/N remained silent for a second before erupting into giggles at the small elbow jab Lewis sent her. “He’s not that bad, honestly.” Y/N defended her husband making a move to snuggle into the Brits side enjoying the feeling of being held by him. “So any update on when I can expect some Grandkids from the pair of you?” Lewis’ mum Carmen questioned loudly a look of pure mischief on her pale face.
Choking on his drink the Mercedes driver shot forwards quickly removing his arm from the y/h/c woman to cover his face as he spluttered “Mum you can’t just ask things like that.” Lewis exclaimed his wide chocolate eyes hidden by his sunglasses. Shrugging, the older woman ignored the gentle glare from the grown man she called her son “I want grandbabies Lewis and you’re not getting any younger.”
Running a calming hand over Lewis’ famous Still I Rise tattoo Y/N couldn’t help but smile at her mother-in-laws statement, Carmen was sweet and kind but definitely wasn’t the sort of woman to beat round the bush. Children had been an on and off subject since the start of Y/N and Lewis’ relationship but races and championships always stood in the way and with the renowned British driver showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon the subject had always been put on the back-burner. Y/N craved the moment she could be a Mother but the fast paced lifestyle of F1 and all that came with it meant it was a life goal the y/h/c woman hadn’t reached yet. “Mum I’m 36 not 60.” Lewis replied in defence mock anger laced in his tone. “Don’t worry Carmen, all the best mum’s get promoted to Grandma.” Y/N reassured the older lady receiving a sweet smile in return. “Just don’t let this one make you wait too long Sweetheart.”
“I don’t think that’s going to be an issue to be honest.” the y/h/c woman stated quietly reaching for a bottle of water, the warm sun causing her to drink more than usual. Turning to face his wife of 4 years Lewis couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow in silent questioning. “I’ll tell you later.” Y/N whispered, flashing a grin at the tan male before placing a kiss on his cheek.
A/N ik Halloween is over but i got this idea and i didn’t want to wait a year so here you go
Taking a sip of her wine Y/N frowned at the interruption of her Halloween marathon, but even she couldn’t con herself into a false confusion of who could possibly be calling at 11pm on a damp Sunday evening. Sighing heavily the young woman debated declining the facetime request and leaving Lewis to sweat. Y/N wasn’t a sadistic woman but she was tired and quite frankly just wanted to melt into the sofa watching a good old horror film. The ring tone cut out a couple of seconds later only to return, lighting her screen up again.
“What do you want?” Y/N questioned the man softly, the usual small grin she donned every time he called failing to appear. “Good evening to you to Babe.” Lewis replied teasingly. Exchanging a few pleasantries seemed to quash the sea of rage Y/N had originally felt towards the man.
“Y/D/N never told me what she was going as” Lewis said his chocolate orbs filling with sadness at the memory of the young girl rambling at the kitchen table about how amazing her Halloween costume was going to be, when the driver had quizzed the girl she simply gave him a toothy grin before shushing him violently exclaiming it was top secret and he’d have to wait. “She seemed really excited.” Lewis continued softly placing his phone down to quickly adjust his braids. “Yeah she was.. Even had Roscoe involved.” Y/N replied the y/h/c woman’s laugh waking the dog in question from his nap beside her. “Can I see her?” the tan male asked hesitantly, a sadness washing over him at the realisation of what he’d missed out on. “She’s asleep, Lewis.” Y/N retorted gently attempting to repress the small pitiful smile itching to make itself known .
“At least tell me you got some good pictures, yeah?” the Driver asked hopefully tilting his head in small confusion at the silence what greeted him as a response. “Y/N/N don’t play with me.” Lewis joked awkwardly, nibbling his bottom lip slightly. “Lew, she was crushed.” Y/N mumbled, ignoring her husband’s gaze as she lent forward to retrieve her wine glass; the merlot she’d been nursing was not strong enough to face the music. How did she tell him that as soon as Y/D/N knew Daddy wasn’t going to make it to take her trick or treating the young girl had cried and cried, almost ripped the costume she’d been so excited to wear trying to take it off like it had burnt her. “She went trick or treating right?” Lewis asked wearily, running a large hand over his stressed face, his eyebrows furrowed. “Yeah Kaiden managed to convince her to go.”
“God I’m a terrible Father.” Lewis cried out. It was times like these he hated that his job took him millions of miles away from his little girl, from his family. “It’s fine Lewis you were busy.” Y/N mumbled ignoring the man’s soft pleads and attempts at an apology. “Is daddy home yet?” the voice of the youngest Hamilton causing her mother to jump and snatch the remote to turn the paused tv off. “What are you doing up baby?” the y/h/c woman quietly questioned the pyjama clad young girl. “I missed Roscoe.” Y/D/N whispered rubbing one of her warm chocolate orbs tiredly seemingly unaware of her father on the phone screen. Sluggishly Y/D/N worked her way to the sofa cuddling into her mum’s side, out of habit Y/N began to gently stroke the girl's y/h/c locks hoping it would ease the youngster back to sleep. “Hi Princess.” Lewis called through the phone frowning slightly as she refused to greet him back instead snuggling into her Mother’s frame more. “I’m really sorry Sweetheart. I promise I’ll take you next year!” the man added quietly.
“That’s 365 days away!” Y/D/N muttered matter-of-factly her usually docile voice angry, a small pout making its way onto her tan features. “I know and I’m really really sorry.” Sighing the Mercedes Driver was hesitant knowing if he didn’t play his cards right he’d for sure be in the dog house once he returned home. “Do I at least get to know what your top secret costume was now?” the man joked, a smile breaking out when he noticed the familiar warm doe eyes capturing his. “I was going to be my favourite F1 driver… and Roscoe was pit crew” Y/D/N explained happily, her previous anger all of the sudden forgotten. “Was?” Lewis asked, tilting his head slightly in confusion before shooting Y/N a bewildered look. “You weren’t here so I couldn’t do twinsies.” Y/D/N replied rapidly, suddenly scared she's upset her dad. “You’ll have to show me when I get back huh” Lewis retaliated energetically.
The early November air was unusually warm with a breeze that left you feeling weightless in all the best ways. The blur of coppers and chestnut causing Y/N Holmes to beg her Husband to be her subject in her latest work of art. The usually austere man refused at first his moustache crinkling as he frowned. But even a stern man like Mycroft Holmes couldn’t say no to a woman like Y/N. He loved watching her y/e/c orbs light up when he’d finally agree a faux scowl on his face. “Honestly Mycroft, didn't your Mother teach you any manners?” Y/N questioned the man teasingly, catching the man’s intense gaze as she peeked her head around the canvas that had previously held her attention.
Coughing awkwardly the Englishman readjusted his stance ignoring the small sound of exasperation that came from the woman. The late autumn air was filled with songs from the Dunnocks and Chaffinches that nipped to and fro around the topaz filtered grounds. “You shouldn’t stare.” the y/h/c woman continued to lecture, swirling the paintbrush she held in a jam jar of water before gently patting it dry. Laughing, the eldest Holmes smiled “My darling, has it ever occurred to you that maybe you shouldn’t look like that?”
Tilting her head in confusion the y/h/c woman couldn’t help but frown. “Mr Holmes, are you purposely trying to displease me?” Y/N retaliated, her tone was soft and even but held a dash of insecurity. Getting up from the cherished love seat the man ran his hand over the carved cedar “My heart would simply cease to exist if I ever distressed you.” The brown haired man stated ducking his head as he attempted to run his juniper orbs over the young woman’s y/b/t figure, Mycroft almost cursed at the large easel and canvas that blocked his view of her. Taking a hesitant step closer, the Holmes could almost hear the cogs in Y/N’s brain working in overdrive as she mulled over his words. The sombre man wasn’t exactly renowned for his kind words and soft demeanour but He was learning. Learning to open his heart no longer fearing rejection like he did before Y/N. Sometimes Mycroft could have sworn Y/N had bewitched him with her good-natured smile and affectionate touches. He’d never seen himself as the settling down type, his career of the utmost importance.
“Don’t you believe me?” Mycroft mumbled, finally able to take his rightful place at the woman’s side. “Of course I do Mycroft.” Y/N replied quietly, a gracious beam making it’s home on her delicate features. Wrapping an arm over the girl's shoulder, Mycroft couldn’t help but enjoy the warmth that filled him, feeling the woman relax against his tall frame. “Now stop being an odd duck and let me finish this before we lose the light!” Y/N declared lightly pushing the man away before swiping at his planted form with a rag, a giggle erupting from her lips at the look of pure shock that appeared on her Husband’s face.
Just to be safe tw pain & suggestion of potential pregnancy complications, general first baby anxiety & hospital visit
“Y/N/N listen to me ok we have to get you to a medic.” Christian stated flustered kneeling in front of the heavily breathing young woman. Christian Horner was a very stern man who said very little until he didn’t. Then he’d say all the wrong things and end up looking like a pot stirring little fucker but watching him with his family was like night and day. His traditionally cool demeanour cracked and was replaced by an overly concerning Father.
“I want Albon” the girl cried out gritting her teeth as another sharp pain flooded through her. “Darling tell your dad what to do, I can make it better.” Christian said, panicking at seeing his daughter in pain.” “I WANT ALEX!” Y/N screamed not caring if some rogue wandering camera crews could hear her. “Will somebody please get Albon! And a Medic!” The Red Bull Principle yelled angrily, turning to face a huddled group of team workers.
“I know you're in pain, can you just try and take some Paracetamol?” the older man begged, passing his daughter a bottle of water that had been placed on the small coffee table when the y/h/c woman had first started complaining of feeling uncomfortable. Time seemed to be moving so slowly one moment Y/N had felt fine, a little agitated if anything and the next she was utterly hysterical, pain shooting through her body. Being poked and prodded by one of the paddock Doctors was not how the y/h/c woman wanted to spend her Saturday afternoon.
“I’m so sorry Alex” Y/N whimpered into the tall man's shoulder, softly trying to wipe her tears away before they could dampen his shirt. “It’s okay it doesn’t matter now.” The Thai driver comforted the tired young woman brushing her y/h/c hair soothingly. “I was horrid to you.” Y/N mumbled guiltily, her tone uneven and sore. “You were just having a bad day sweetheart, it's fine.” He’d meant it sweetly of course he did but Y/N couldn’t help but roll her y/e/c orbs gently she was very aware how horrible she’d been at the F1 NBA free throw challenge. Just remembering her attitude towards Alex and poor poor Max who’d simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time made her cringe.
Releasing a shaky breath Y/N hadn’t realised she’d been holding “You know I think I’ve changed my mind” the y/e/c eyed girl stated quietly resting her head on the tan man’s shoulder playing with his lean fingers she currently held in her y/s/c hand. “About what?” Alex questioned the girl tenderly. He enjoyed moments like this. They were moments he relieved in his dreams, moments that left him feeling weightless in the best way possible. “About starting a family.” Y/N started hesitantly half expecting Alex to jump away from her like she’d burnt him. “Sounds rather nice actually.” the young Horner sniffed slightly as she roughly palmed the remaining tears away. Running a thumb over the girls y/s/c hands Alex smiled “On one condition.” Noticing the girl's confused expression, the driver couldn’t help but laugh “You tell me about what's going on up there rather than storming off.” He continued delicately tapping the girl's forehead. Tilting her head Y/N pretended to ponder the man’s light-hearted demand “I think I can deal with that.”
“We’re going to have to send you off to the local hospital to get you checked over. It’s just a precaution.” The Medic said reassuringly, noticing the nervous looks that fell over the trio.
“Alright let's get your stuff and go” Christian announced from his spot next to the on-site Doctor, his arms crossed anxiously.
“No! I’ll go. No offence Christian I know she’s your little girl but she’s carrying my little girl… or guy.” Alex replied giddily, his dark eyes sparkling at the realisation of what he’d just said. He liked it. It sounded right. “It’s my turn to take care of my family.” Alex added assertively from his spot next to the young Horner shooting a reassuring smile to the older man. “Dad, please just go the team needs you.” Y/N groaned in faux exasperation at the sight of her father just hovering helicopter parent style. “I’m in safe hands.” the y/h/c young woman continued lovingly gesturing at her hand linked with Alex’s. “I know I know… but it’s my job to worry about you Y/N/N.” Christian defended himself quickly, backing away from the young couple. “Send me updates” the Red Bull Principle demanded pointing a harsh finger at Alex, the older man’s eyebrows finally relaxing from their furrowed state, the built up stress finally extinguishing.
Karma has a habit of catching up with you. It's a superstition that brings you face to face with the consequences of your actions whether you meant them or not. If karma works like death wearing a familiar face and all that Y/N Horner was completely screwed in a metaphorical sense this time. Max had won again and Checo had made his mark on F1 history being the first Mexican to lead a lap and secure a podium at his home Grand Prix respectively. This weekend was definitely one for the books but also one Y/N wished with all her heart she could forget. Somehow since Turkey the y/h/c girl had managed to avoid a certain papaya donned driver but luck has a shelf life it seems. Heading back to the Red Bull hospitality Y/N couldn’t help but curse at the flakes of red, white and green confetti stuck in her y/h/c strands. The Paddock was drastically less busy than earlier due to the celebrations and Y/N could actually walk more than 2 meters without bumping into someone. It would have been 3 meters but Lando Norris put a stop to that.
“So do you just plan on sleeping your way through the grid?” the McLaren Driver sneered he’d posed it as a question but he meant for it to hurt. It was a razor cut of a statement, one made with malice and laced with poison. Taking a deep breath Y/N ignored Lando for a second “It’s none of your business Norris.” Y/N replied plainly. The girl’s voice was assertive and direct just like her Father had taught her but Y/N couldn’t help but feel off guard. Keeping up with the Horner girls' strides Lando couldn’t help but scoff “You're just pissed you got caught!” he stated matter-of-factly. From afar Y/N wondered if they looked friendly, they hadn’t received any odd looks yet but from what little traffic there was in the walkway she wasn’t surprised. Half of the small crowd was fans on the hunt for a specific driver to nab a photograph with, the other worked for a team and was determined to finish their task before the frantic rush to pack up for Brazil. “You know I thought you were different but you’re just a massive dick!” Y/N exclaimed in realisation. “Yeah well you think you’re so sweet and innocent conning Pierre into thinking you're having his baby!” Lando defended himself, an arrogant smirk sat on his tan face.
Coming to a halt Y/N turned to face the dark haired man tilting her head in pity the girl mulled over Lando’s words, He sounded so sure of himself. Cocky but in a way that made her cringe Y/N laughed “It’s your baby!”
“What?” the Englishman stuttered his smirk now gone, his face beginning to lose colour. Y/N shrugged she didn’t feel sorry, she wasn’t a cruel person but Lando had played with fire and unfortunately lost. “You heard me loud and clear.” the y/h/c woman replied, playing with the paddock pass that sat around her neck. “I didn’t… I didn’t know.” Lando whispered. “No! No, instead you thought you’d accuse me of being a whore.” Y/N retaliated with a delicious sarcastic smile sat on her y/s/c face. “I didn’t say that.” Lando said slowly his confidence from earlier completely vanished. Feigning shock the y/h woman pouted “I’m sorry, did I just hallucinate? You pretty much just called me one or maybe Gold Digger was the term you were looking for.” the girl suggested smugly.
“Y/N/N I’m so sorry.” Lando muttered running a hand through his dishevelled post-race curls. He was embarrassed, it showed in his body language Lando had a habit of doing that. “Look I don’t need you so why don’t you run along a play some video games or whatever it is you do in your spare time and leave me the fuck alone.” Y/N proposed tauntingly. It was horrible behaviour sure, would she regret it? Probably but did it feel good to see Lando hurt, to see his own poison laced words sting him back twice fold? Hell yes. “God Lando I can’t deal with this pretty boy pettiness you have going on I have bigger priorities” Becoming a Mother had grounded the young Horner, sure she still had moments were she acted out and not all of it could be blamed on hormones but at the end of the day time was running out. Soon she’d have this little thing dependent on her even more than they were now. This baby was her future. And she’d protect it at any cost.
“I was jealous ok!” the McLaren Driver exclaimed exasperatedly, eyebrows furrowed in utter defeat. “Of who? No scratch that of what?” Y/N argued, throwing her arms up in irritation. Biting his lip Lando shrugged “I don’t know..” Rolling her y/e/c orbs Y/N scowled “That’s great! Great use of words Lando.”
“It was stupid ok I get it!” Lando groaned, running a hand over his stressed face. Nodding in agreement Y/N clicked her tongue “I feel sorry for the next girl who has the displeasure of dealing with you.”
“I don’t want there to be a next girl” the Driver called out to the girls retreating figure panicking. “Jesus Lando a couple of minutes ago you were accusing me of bed hopping the entire grid which fuck you by the way and now you want to play happy families?” Y/N scoffed, placing a protective hand on her bump. Noticing the disheartened look on the young man’s face Y/N frowned. “Look, we can make co-parenting work.. And who knows you have four months give or take to prove me wrong.” Y/N offered kindly, placing a reassuring hand on Lando’s forearm. Shooting the Brit a small smile the Horner gave the man’s tan limb a warm squeeze. “I really have to get back before my Dad sends out a search party but text me ok? My number’s still the same so no excuses.” Y/N giggled pointing a mocking finger at the Driver, a grin finding a home on his tan features.
Taking a couple of steps towards her final destination the y/h/c girl was confused at the sudden buzz from her phone. Her family was back home so were all well into their evening routines by now and those in the same time zone were busy celebrating. “Just making sure I remembered your number!” Lando yelled loudly, spotting the girl glancing at her mobile.
“Seriously Y/N/N don’t let Yuki teach your kid animal sounds… he doesn’t even know what noise a dog makes.” Pierre exclaimed breathlessly through his laughter, the Frenchman almost reducing himself to tears yet again. The Paddock was pretty hectic, camera crews and reporters littering the walkway causing the friends to occasionally have to pause. “You think I'm going to let either of you near my child?” Y/N replied sarcastically, almost feeling sorry for the Japanese Driver's fallen expression. “I’m joking Yuki.” the English girl reassured the young man, smiling at him gently.
“Oh it’s a match, just as Pierre and Yuki walk past. Joined by the lovely Y/N Horner too.” Rachel Brookes cheerfully said into her microphone spotting the trio making their way up the paddock. Flagging down the mini friendship group Rachel couldn’t help but gush over the y/h/c woman. The two females had built up a strong bond over the years and with a combination of Covid and Y/N’s sudden disappearance it had been the first time they’d properly seen each other in months. “A congratulations are in order, Miss Horner” Rachel teased the younger girl, shooting the y/h/c girl a kind smile “You’re honestly glowing.” The sky presenter added joyfully, “You think so? I haven't been feeling so hot lately.” Y/N replied honestly, running a hand anxiously over her gingham summer dress, the soft cotton felt amazing in the humid temperature. “You look lovely.” David assured the young woman. “Thanks Crofty.”
“They’re matching your score on Mr & Mr” Rachel explained pointing at the sheet of questions in her pale hand. Sky Sports currently had an ongoing challenge between all teams on the grid, small comedic behind the scenes content that allowed a friendly rivalry off the track between Drivers. Mexico being McLaren's turn to attempt to top the leaderboard. “We’re on 10” Daniel boasted giddily, a wide grin lighting up his tan face. Rolling her y/e/c eyes at the Australian Y/N ignored the intense gaze she felt on her. She knew who it belonged to, and it angered her that she used to enjoy the feeling of his denby azure eyes on her. “They have 1 more question to answer, do you want to watch this?” The Blonde presenter asked Pierre moving the stack of stapled paper closer so the AlphaTauri driver could read the question. Bursting into laughter the Frenchman nearly doubled over leaning on the Horner girl for support. Recovering Pierre moved to stand to the side linking his helmet free hand with Y/N’s. “Pierre, let's just go please.” Y/N mumbled wanting to remove herself from the group but too scared to leave by herself knowing it would draw more attention to herself. Wrapping his arms around the girl Pierre brushed a lock of her y/h/c hair out of her face “It’s just going to take a minute.” Sighing Y/N nodded, unfortunately catching Lando’s eyes, the previous gaze she’d felt had turned to an intense murderous glare. Sky were normally under a time restraint but the next minute or so felt like forever. Y/N didn’t understand how you could go from loving having someone’s undivided attention to hating it, it made her skin crawl now like she was under a microscope, the feeling that the young English driver was just looking for her to give him another reason to hate her. It was Pierre teasingly calling Dan a loser that jostled Y/N from her out of body moment.
Guiding the Horner girl away from the interrupted interview Pierre glanced at the girl. “What was that about?” He asked faintly, quickly plastering a smile on his face for the photographer pointing his camera in the pair's direction. Yuki was a couple of steps behind so Pierre felt comfortable questioning Y/N, due to his stint at Red Bull the two had grown close. “It was nothing.” Y/N shook off the question blandly. Nodding sarcastically Pierre ran a hand over his chin “That’s the most painful nothing I've ever seen.”
Pausing Y/N turned to face her friend “Fine. It was just the consequence of my actions, happy?” the y/h woman hissed, pushing the man away a little before walking away. “Is she ok?” Yuki asked innocently, watching the young Horner storm off towards the Red Bull motorhome angrily.
“Was it something I did?” The Japanese Driver asked again anxiously readjusting his facemask. Shaking his head, Pierre bit his lip “No Yuki.” His response was short and simple but it brought little consolation to the shorter man. “She’s just a little upset.” Pierre added, patting Yuki on the shoulder.
