Sad to hear that Irvine Sellar has died aged 82. While I'm not such a fan of his later property developing career (we have him to thank for The Shard) he was one of the boutique pioneers back in the 1960s, with 'Mates' credited as being the first unisex boutique. Starting in Carnaby Street with Mates and Tom Cat, Irvine Sellars Mates would become one of Britain's biggest chains of shops in the 1970s/1980s.
