One Shot for Sally!

“Hey guys, I’ll meet you there. I’m gonna swing in Pinkberry really quick.” I yelled to my friends who were making their way towards Times Square.

“Ok, we’ll be in Toys R Us!” I heard them yell back as I entered the small Pinkberry shop.

I got in line and looked up at the menu. Hmm, what do I want? I silently thought to myself. I bit my lip as I was trying to figure out between peanut butter or chocolate hazelnut froyo when I heard a familiar voice behind me.

“Whatcha getting Nialler?” I turned around and saw Harry Styles and Niall Horan standing behind me in line.

“Hi! Welcome to Pinkberry! What can I get you?” The attendant asked me.

“Umm, can I get a medium chocolate hazelnut?” I asked taking a peek at the boys behind me.

“Ok, now what would you like on it?”

“Can I have strawberries, coconut, and chocolate sauce?” I replied.

“That sounds delicious.” I turned around to find that it was Niall who said that.

“I’m sorry?” I asked him as I moved down to the register.

“Your froyo, it looks delicious.” Niall responded with a smile.

“Oh yeah. Thanks. It’s what I always get.” I told him.

“Is that it?” The attendant asked me.

“And a waffle cookie please.” I said with a smile while handing them my credit card.

I took the cup of frozen yogurt from them and waited as they swiped my card. Niall and Harry had come up next to me, ready to pay and I looked at their huge cups of froyo.

“Wow.” I said looking between the two of them, taking my credit card back.

“What?” Harry asked.

“Nothing. That’s just, uh, a lot don’tcha think?” I asked pointing to both of their containers.

“Not for us.” Harry responded with a grin.

“Well good luck.” I laughed out before taking a seat by the window.

Soon enough Niall and Harry had sat down at the table next to mine. I looked at them both and laughed as they began to dig in to their food.

“What now?” Niall asked noticing my giggles.

“You guys should slow down and maybe you’ll actually taste it.”

“I can taste it just fine. Why aren’t you eating yours?” Harry asked me with a full mouth, pointing towards my dish with his spoon.

“I’m eating it; just not so fast I get a brain freeze.” I said taking a bite, making sure I got a bit of everything.

“What did you guys get anyways?” I asked once I swallowed my mouthful of frozen yogurt.

“I got peanut butter with strawberries, melon, oreo pieces, and chocolate sauce.” Niall said with a smile.

“That sounds, uh, interesting. And you curly?” I asked Harry, smiling.

“Curly? Well I got coconut with strawberries, melon, kiwi, and granola.”

“Yes, curly. And the healthy route, nice.” I said taking another spoonful of my yogurt.

My phone vibrated on the table and I looked and saw a text message from my friend Megan telling me to call her. I picked up the phone and dialed her number and waited for her to pick up.

“Hey, what’s up?” I said eating some more of my froyo. I caught Niall and Harry looking at me and just ignored it.

“I’m eating. I didn’t want to walk to Times Square and eat at the same time.” I kept glancing over and Niall and Harry. The both would turn away quickly whenever I looked at them.

“Yeah ok. I’ll call you when I’m headed that way so I can see where you are. Ok. Bye.” I hung up the phone.

“What?” I asked Niall and Harry, placing my phone on the table.

“What do you mean what?” Niall asked placing another spoonful in his mouth.

“You both kept looking at me while I was on the phone, that’s what.” I said leaning back in my chair, crossing my arms.

“Oh sorry. It’s just, you know who we are but didn’t squeal to your friends about it. Why?” Harry asked me.

“I don’t know. Not my place I guess. Same reason I didn’t actually come out and say I know who you are.” I told them. “You deserve privacy and I wasn’t going to fangirl in the middle of a Pinkberry.”

“Oh. Well thanks. We appreciate it. It’s nice to be able to go out and not be swarmed.” Niall said finishing his cup.

“Oh yeah, where is Paul anyways?” I asked noticing that they had literally no security and that didn’t seem like a good idea being in New York City.

“Ha. He and the other guys are on their way here now. They stopped at a shop down the block.” Harry replied.

“Oh ok. Cool.” I got up and tossed my empty container in the garbage.

“Well I need to get going. I have friends I need to meet up with.” I said gathering my things. “It was nice to meet you both.” I smiled at them.

“Do you wanna get a picture?” Niall asked me as I stood back up.

“Umm sure.” I smiled and we got an employee to take our picture. I looked at the photo on my phone and smiled.

“Well, see yah.” I said leaving the store.

“Wait!” They both yelled at the same time. I peeked my head back in the store.

“What?” I asked confused.

“We never got your name.” Harry replied with a grin.

“Oh right. Sally. My name’s Sally.”

You groan and roll over on the thick tree branch. "Are you done yet?"

"Almost," Niall says quietly and bites his bottom lip, concentrating hard while he works the knife into the trunk of the large oak tree. You sigh and watch him carve, working your initials into the thick bark. "Okay, now I'm done." He smiles and flips the pocket knife closed, sliding it back into his pocket. You climb down from your branch onto his. You scoot over to the trunk and rest your hand on the carving, tracing it with your fingers.

You smile, but then your eyebrows knit together in confusion. A heart is carved around your initials, surrounding them, but below that, a few more words were carved.

Will you marry me?

Your lips form a huge smile and you turn around to face him.

"What do you think Sally? Do you like it?" Niall asks you quietly. You nod slowly, but it quickly turns into very over enthusiastic nodding. A smile even bigger than yours breaks across his face and you toss your arms around his neck.

"Yes," you whisper into his left ear. Your happiness flowing through you like a mighty rushing river, impossible to contain. "Yes!"
