On the hunt for Fortuna
A friend yesterday said “having very strong feelings that Jeremy is about to be very fortunate!” Apart from being a lovely thing to hear it has set me thinking about what is being fortunate?
I feel fortunate in man ways big and small as well as to be part of a group of “sovereigns” that are open and authentic and give this sort of encouragement but also maybe instead of just feeling fortunate maybe I could encourage fortune in the moment.
When you hear about being fortunate I also start to think about being fortunate not to be killed.......in terms of it being something awful that is about to happen that I am fortunate was not worse.....
Or in being fortunate what would I like to be fortunate in. This is the most telling of them all and really illuminates the place I am at in my life - highlights the pressures of work, money and love. Immediately I start pondering on the fortunate in those contexts I buy a lottery ticket! as a means of satifying all of the above. Really??? Actually I’ve not checked mine yet so I can still bask in the potential of having won.
These thoughts and others has made me feel that today I need to go on the hunt for Fortuna - and to start with I’ve just discovered that there is a statue of her at The British Museum given as part of the Waddesdon Bequest, located in the next door room to Enlightenment.
Considering what I have been posting over the last few days then being able to gain enlightenment as well as fortune seems to great an opportunity to miss. We are heading to the British Museum and see where this universal nudge takes us.
