Life Update

Hey everyone!

I'm back...and you have no idea how happy that makes me. Life has gotten better. I have a new job that is so much better than the last. The pay is decent, but I have a lot more freedom as well as the ability to run my own shift.

Currently, I work as a Night Auditor at a hotel. And even though it's third shift, part of what makes it great is that I tend to have a lot of downtime after all the guests are taken care of - which leaves me with time to do whatever I want.

Including the opportunity to write. Yesterday I finally managed to post my first story in months and I was able to write it while passing time at work. Which is pretty dope, in my opinion.

I was also able to find an organization to help me with my rent, so I was able to avoid being evicted from my apartment for being behind on payments.

All in all, things are looking up!

Thank you so much to everyone who reached out and helped me. I am eternally grateful for all of the financial support, well wishes, signal boosts - you guys are so amazing. Your love, acceptance, and compassion means more than you will ever know.

Hiatus.

Hey friends. In a couple days I will be going on a hiatus for approximately 30 days. My mental health is really suffering and January was hard.

Really fucking hard.

So I'm gonna go away for a bit and get some help. I love you. I'm sorry.

I don't wanna die. But living is hard. And a drink keeps looking really good.

Life is hard right now. And weird. And I still don't engage with my family all that much, but this happened today:

His name is Bryson Michael Miller.

5lbs. 15oz. 20in.

He's kinda perfect.

Maybe one day his Mama and I will fix what's broken between us. Maybe one day our family will fix all of this.

But in the meantime, look at all that pretty hair. My brother was kinda bald. But me and my sister..?

Time to bust out the blow dryer.

Yo!

Just finished creating a bunch of story headers for new fics that I hope to share soon. I hope you like them - the graphics and the stories. I'm not sure if people find the images to be cheesy. It's just...making them has since become a part of my creative process.

I sincerely appreciate everyone who reads and supports my work. Including those who lurk. Even though comments and reblogs make my day. Just saying.

This blog. My moots. Sharing the chaos of my mind.

It all provides an amazing outlet for me. And helps combat my depression.

Sometimes ya'll are like superheroes to me.

A Little Birdie's TikTok

Just signed on for the first time in a week and took a good look in my inbox. I see now I'm going to have to start a whole TikTok subsection for my Sweet Renegade Series. Because ya'll keep sending them to me, and they are so so good.

I am sitting here actively dying!

Smile. Because you got yourself out of bed this morning, even when your body might've felt too heavy to move.

Smile. Because you took a shower, even though each step on the way to the bathroom might've felt like you were walking through quicksand.

Smile. Because you forced yourself to go to class. Go to work. Or simply leave the house. Even though the thought of having to engage with strangers might've felt like torture.

Smile. Because you managed to accomplish every little thing that your brain lied and told you you couldn't.

Smile. Because somehow, in spite of all the noise, you found the strength to make it through the day.

Smile. Because you deserve to be proud of yourself for every hard-won victory you earned today - big or small.

Because look at you, baby. You did it! And for the what it's worth, I'm super fucking proud of you. Now go drink some water, eat some chocolate, or watch your favorite show. Just rest.

Because you've earned it.

Hi. Going through some things. Being forced out of my job, literally, by my Executive Team Lead (ETL) at Target. She doesn't like me, which is fine, because I don't consider her to be God's gift to retail. She literally never takes a day off and constantly boasts about how much she does. Not to be petty, but I think it's because her kids have all left home and that she's unhappy in her marriage. But then again, who am I to judge?

I just know that I won't be able to feed myself based off the new schedule she put out because I am suddenly too slow in my current function.

*Fuck right off*

But this development has pushed me to revisit the idea of returning to my career in Marketing & Communications, which has spanned nearly 13 years. I think it's time. But I've also got to find something in the interim.

And while I'm hustling, it's also got me feeling kinda sour. It's hard for me to be creative when I feel that way. But I am answering Asks and will be back to writing soon.

I love you. Please drink some water, eat some chocolate, and get a good night's sleep. Rest up, gorgeous. Because you deserve it.
