Enzo was always in need of taste testers for the bakery, and luckily, he had plenty of friends who were willing to be his guniea pigs. Today they were between red velvet whoopie pies and cinnamon blondies, push two plates in Ally’s direction. "Okay, so...you gotta tell me which you like better. I’m trying out some new recipes and I need to pick tomorrow’s special.”

Zane really was starting to hate winter. Luckily, he had a pocket full of excuses and a lot of friends who didn’t seem to mind letting him crash on their couches for a night or two. The list included Joey, someone he was particularly grateful for this cold January night. When morning comes around, he busies himself with putting on a pot of coffee, turning when he hears footsteps approaching. “Good morning. I made coffee.” Zane says, offering one of the mugs to Joey with a smile. “I was gonna make some breakfast too, if you’re hungry. You know, as a thank you. I really appreciate you letting me crash here last night.”
