The pop of static from the walkie-talkie comes during the cusp between night and morning. "You're still up?" Spoken in that murmured tone heard across the Commonwealth it doesn't chide or scold instead holds ghost of a rare tease.
There’s a moment of silence that usually fell over the Castle when the dead of night came to pass, and while he normally appreciated that silence, the static from his walkie that came was a welcome change. With so much buzzing on his mind there’s almost a saving grace to hearing the voice of another as he pulls the walkie to his lips, leaning back in his chair with LEVER ACTION laying across his lap.
“I could ask you the same question.”
TRAVIS didn’t get much sleep from what Jamie understood ( which admittedly was hypocritical of him to pinpoint given his own sleeping arrangement ) and after a moment he cranes his head back idly before exhaling the softest breath from his lungs. He figured Travis wouldn’t have reached out if something wasn’t on his mind.
AN INNOCENT question, but one hoping to understand what’s going through his head. Jamie worried often about others, but few made him worry quite like Travis did. He was getting better with each passing day, more confident, more willing to stand up for himself, but that never stopped people from having slip ups and bad days from time to time.
“Something on your mind?”
He pauses, exhaling quietly as he leans forward in his chair to set the empty Nuka Cola Bottle to the side of him so he doesn’t accidentally kick it over before getting comfortable in his seat.
“I’m here...if you want to talk that is.”
