The Living Gallery is Broadway Bound!
Text and photos by Meryl Meisler
The Living Gallery is going Broadway Baby, 1094 Broadway to be exact!
Curtains up, light the lights- Saturday, April 6th is opening night. To celebrate and inaugurate the fabulous new space, you are invited to BYO Art.
Nyssa Frank, the gallery director and owner’s main reason for moving from The Loom was to find a space where the gallery could (in addition to it’s top notch exhibitions, classes, workshops and community events) work with Mike Garcia to host live music.
The Living Gallery’s new storefront space is smack right in the heart of Broadway, the block that made Bushwick famous and infamous. There have been complaints that Bushwick’s Broadway lacks razzle-dazzle, surely The Living Gallery will help bring back.
What is the Living Gallery’s plan for Bushwick Open Studios? The team that brought to BOS12 Defying Devastation: Bushwick in The 80s- Meryl Meisler, Vanessa Mártir and Patricia O’Brien are coming back to The Living Gallery with their sequel: “Still Defiant: Bushwick Then & Now”.
