Headcanon that Lord of the Rings exists in the fma universe and Ed and Al grew up reading the books and can both speak Elfish. They use it as a secret language that only they speak.
The team is completely unaware of this little fact until the brothers decide to mess with the team by only speaking in Elfish, quoting the books, and laughing at the jokes, making the team think they are shit talking them. This goes on for days until Roy laughs with them and asks Ed if he really just quoted Gimlly, Ed calls him a filthy Ork and moves on.
When the film gets released in the future, the three go together and don't shut up about the film until they bully the rest of the team to watch them. All three ask 'do you know...?' Question that every Lord of the Rings fan knows.
