Hello, I wanted to know if you have a certain process for taking care of books(maybe expensive ones with hardcover) so their pages don't go yellow or the cover doesn't deteriorate with time. Thanks!

Hello. :) Nope, I don’t have a process for caring for old books other than handling them carefully. I know a lot of people use Brodart plastic book covers on their old hardcover books that have fragile dust jackets, but I’m the weird guy who doesn’t like the way it makes the cover art shiny/reflective. But if you truly want to protect your old dust jacketed books from yellowing/deteriorating, that’s the way to go. I’d love for others to chime in with your processes.

All right my fellow bookie friends, I am in need of your thoughts! I am most definitely going to cover my hardback dust jacket covers to protect them and keep them looking beautiful.

But I'm wondering about my paperbacks. I've seen that brodart has some permanent covers for them, which they say is a good option if its a paperback that you plan to keep in your personal library.

Has anyone used these before?  

I definitely want to protect my paperback books, as some of my favored YA books are only available as paperback. I'm just not sure if the permanent paperback stuff is a good choice. If you're curious, you can find them here.
