5. On an average day, what can be found in your character’s pockets?

Brody is a creature of habit and can often feel uneasy if his pants pockets feel imbalanced. His right pocket always holds his mobile phone, and only his phone. Ensuring that he never misses a message or call. His left pocket often holds his house keys and a packet of mints. One of his more positive habits is making sure he always has fresh breath. Talking in front of a classroom of people or one-on-one with his students is a lot easier when he feels confident about his personal hygiene. He keeps his wallet in his left jacket pocket, or shoves it in his left back pants pocket if it’s a day for bare arms. A guitar pick or two can often be found hidden deep in his pockets.

11. In what situation was your character the most afraid they’ve ever been?

Brody was often ill as a child. So much so that his parents had perfected reassuring their only child that he’d be healthy again soon. When Brody was seven years old he awoke one night with aches and cold sweats, and the most awful headache he’d ever experienced. The next morning, first thing, his mother brought him to the local doctor only to be advised to bring him straight to the emergency room. The worry lines on his mother’s face seemed deeper than usual, and she looked nervous as she drove to the hospital as fast as she could but within the speed limit. That was the first time Brody felt truly scared of what was happening to his body. The next few days were a blur as his father arrived mid-day from work and made phone calls to inform family and his school. It was a suspected case of meningitis, which eventually proved to be a false alarm. Following tests and three days in the hospital his official diagnosis was a ‘viral infection’. Following this health scare, Brody’s parents pulled him from the public school system and began homeschooling Brody.

44. How easy or difficult is it for your character to say “I love you?” Can they say it without meaning it?

“I love you” has never been something Brody has been faced with saying romantically. The phrase was often shared in his house growing up, his parents never shied away from sharing feelings and they taught their son to do the same. Despite casually dating in college Brody has never been in a serious relationship. His dog, Oscar, is currently the most frequent recipient of the phrase. Although he has yet to say those three words in a romantic sense, he’d never say it without meaning it. Brody’s a terrible liar. He hates being put on the spot, and often gets giddy if he attempts to lie. So, if he tells you he loves you, he means it.

4. Has your character ever witnessed something that fundamentally changed them? If so, does anyone else know?

Brody has been fortunate enough in his life to not have witnessed anything life-changing. His parents kept him fairly sheltered as a child. He has always lived in Stars Hollow. A pretty normal town where nothing too awful has every happened.

14. Does your character remember names or faces easier?

Brody has a knack for remembering faces. Names is another story. He often forgets names as soon as they’re introduced, especially when in a group scenario.

24. Is your character more likely to keep trying a solution/method that didn’t work the first time, or immediately move on to a different solution/method?

People who know Brody know that he can be quite stubborn. Brody rathers to think it’s an aspect of his optimism. He has a tendency to keep at something if he believes it can work, before eventually moving on to a different method.

34. How quick is your character to trust someone else?

Brody tends to trust people until they give him a reason not to. It has sometimes lead to him getting screwed over, but it’s an approach to people he refuses to change.
