not gonna lie, normally i always found broger recreating jamieclaire's iconic everything to be kinda cringe, but this....this actually works really well. I really like the dynamic. It's not over the top but it gets the point across. the broger storyline in the books when they're in the 80s and when they separate to go find jem is one of my favorites in the later books, and im excited to see it portrayed on screen :)
just my take on this...if you don't have "outlander spoilers" added to your filter list, NOW'S THE TIME TO DO IT! I am not a spoiler-free blog, but will do my best to tag shit appropriately 🩵
This is probably my new favorite photo of Bree and Roger. It’s beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. The love, the happiness you see here. Beautiful.

- "Here. The ring you asked Murtagh to make for Bree." - "Thank you. Oh, I thought perhaps – I only expected copper and brass." - "Well, this one is certainly fit for my daughter."
um OK. just me or did sophie’s acting get drastically more natural and easeful in the span of a literal episode?? i actually saw the book!bree that i love in 5.02. weird....
HOW TO BE AN "ANTI"
.... in the Outlander online fandom
🙈 🙉 🙊
(from what I've learned on tumblr)
• Accept the narrative presented to you: S and C are BFFs who lead completely separate lives. Other than filming schedules and public appearances, they do not spend time together in the same places. For any reason. Like, ever, ok? (Point out time/date stamps on SM posts to prove your point.) S has a thing for blondes. (Post photos to prove your point). C is in love with T. (Post photos to prove your point. Bonus: they're all so hot it burns!)
• Laugh derisively at those who question any of it, and make sure to take the moral high ground by throwing a "desperate" and "delusional" out there on a regular basis. That'll show 'em. (You used big words.)
• Use the derogatory term "extreme shipper" ("ES", ye ken... but aye, ye already kent tha') to describe those fools who follow the trail of bread crumbs left by Sam and Cait. How bored does someone need to be to match up walls, floors, carpets, timelines, clouds, landmarks, hashtags, reflections? Very! And body language and lip-reading? You're too (sensibly) detached to care.
• Dismiss any perceptible chemistry between S and C as the normal result of finely-honed acting skills. It's all part of the biz. It's work. It's in the book/script. It was the director's instruction. (This applies to interviews, SM, red carpets. All part of the job. Nothing to see here.)
• Identify your blog as "anti-drama" so that followers know you're serious about not questioning the official narrative. After all, independent thought *IS* drama.
• Openly express your excitement that the Tait wedding is coming. You can't wait! It's gonna make you squee! (This, btw, isn't "shipping"; you're no shipper! That dreamboat T isn't affiliated with OL in any way, after all, and you just want the best for C.)
• Refuse to notice any photo or video that begs you to see a change in C's abdomen in the holy name of Feminism. What woman *doesn't* visibly retain water/food/def-not-a-baby every couple of years? It's empowering and needs no comment. Amen. (Oh, and that ducky in the pool in SA? Someone else's; playing with it together just demonstrated a childlike joie de vivre.)
• Praise Season 4 effusively. It's about time that they reined in their aging passion, not to mention their tongues! The engagement and all... S and C were paying T some respect on camera. (They're good enough actors to manufacture fake chemistry, but not good enough to be able to keep it going when common decency says they shouldn't.)
• Make sure you visit (and comment on, even if it's just a 🙄) ES blogs on a regular basis. Your view is the right one, and they need you. One day they'll thank you for it!
• Remember: the moral high ground is yours. Even though you've noticed, read, commented on, liked, and reblogged posts on S and C's personal lives, you're not here for that! You're a #truefan who's just here for Outlander. And with any luck, more Broger.
(Did I miss anything?)
