I have not, though I keep hearing about it. That tea in the long glasses, right? Is it just tea with ice in it? I’m assuming the tea is cold since otherwise the ice would melt. >:
Paige scowled, eyebrows drawing together as she jabbed a pencil in his direction. “Creativity is mandatory. Without it, the world as it is today would cease to exist. Humans thrive on imagination and the ideas invented through creative means. To suggest that your aspect is more valued than mine is such idiocy, it's blasphemous.”
She snorted through her nostrils at the end of her speech, snapping her head back around to return attention towards the easel in front of her. Depicted on the white paper was a painting of a human with their front torn into, laying their organs on display and vulnerable to the dark manifestations she was in the midst of adding behind the figure.
The young woman was quite proud of her piece so far, if she did say so herself. And she was much more interested in finishing this off than wasting time prattling on to the idiot stood a few feet behind her. As shown by the way she turned her back on him and flicked pastel coloured locks behind her shoulder.
Tony's right eye twitched at her comments, this argument had been going on all morning so far. Neither was really quite sure who had started it, but what was certain was that both were intent on being the one to finish it.
“Creativity can bring to fruit an idea, I give you that. A joke, a musical composition, an artistic piece of work, a literary novel...” As he listed off the items, Tony paced across the wooden planks of the flooring, coming to a stop behind her easel. “However, all inventions will eventually fade away. It is an inevitably. Nothing is immune to the effects of time, not even you and I in the end. All these...” He quirked a lip in mild disgust. “Creative ideas… are destined to crumble to nothingness.”
Resting a hand on the top of her art piece, fingers brushed against the paper. Almost immediately, the paint began to dry, looking for but a moment perfect before the ages of time made it crack and flake. The colours darkened, grime and wear causing the lines to blur together until the original image was barely recognisable.
Paige’s eyes widened as she was subject to witness her art decay before her, shock and loss marring her face. Such emotions were fleeting however, and soon replaced with barely contained raw anger and hatred when she snapped her gaze towards his.
He returned the look with his own leveled stare, finally letting the painting go as he retracted his hand. Perhaps he had gone too far? Indeed, it wasn’t like him to destroy her artwork, and for a moment he wondered if he’d allowed his anger to get the better of him.
Still, Tony prepared himself to deflect the impending attack she would no doubt inflict on him. But much to his surprise, she simply shot him the dirtiest glare she could muster before whirling around and leaving the room, door slamming shut behind her.
He was left alone with the destroyed painting and his own thoughts, wondering why this argument seemed to differ from their usual squabbles.
Of course, he only wasted thirteen seconds on such musings before shooing them away in order to move onto other things. He couldn’t waste time on such trivial things, after all.
.
The next morning at breakfast, a silence that could only be described as awkward engulfed the table. Paige, who was usually annoying one of the boys to do something such as finger painting whilst they did their best to eat despite the interference, remained silent as she drew in crayon on coloured paper.
Tony, who often dictated how much time was passing by and that they should be finished and cleaned up within such a time, sat eating in silence. Occasionally, his gaze flickered towards the silent woman, though he said nothing.
Seated between them were Harry, Manny and Robin. All of which found the sudden change in behaviour odd and highly scary – even more so than their usual creepy behaviour.
“Did something happen between you two?” Harry eventually asked, eyes flickering between the both of them.
“No.”
“Yes.”
The two glanced at one another, her gaze narrowing and lips pressing into a thin line. Meanwhile, he raised an eyebrow at her denial, thrown off by her attitude.
Making a ‘hmph’ noise, she stood up and left the room, leaving behind her artwork which Manny cast a glance at. When he did, he made an odd expression which piqued Tony’s curiosity enough to stand up and lean over to grasp it.
Ah.
A hastily scribbled doodle of a triumphant Paige standing on a pile of smashed and broken clocks stared back at him. And for some reason, the clocks were leaking red. Nothing different from her normal artwork, though this time it seemed to have been drawn with more ferocity than usual.
“What did you two fight about this time?” Harry probed, staring up at the blue male with a questioning look in his eyes.
He merely snorted, casting the piece of paper aside. “As if I have the time to explain such trivial nonsense.”
.
After that, the two of them avoided one another.
She, out of grudging anger.
He, out of not having the time nor patience to deal with her passive-aggressive new found attitude.
The three boys stayed out of it, deciding wisely not to get involved and to let whatever this was run its course without them butting in.
And despite the days passing by, it did all eventually reach an end five days later.
.
Pacing down the stairs, Tony flipped his pocket watch open. Thirty seven minutes past as expected, so far everything was going to schedule. Now he just needed-
“What’s your favourite idea?”
Coming to a stop outside the kitchen door, he paused, turning his head to glance through the crack in the door. Sat on the table staring out the window was Paige, singing in a small voice.
“Mine is being creative.
How do I get an idea?
I just try to think, creatively…”
He frowned, realising he had wasted seventeen seconds already. He should just walk on and allow her to keep to herself, but at the same time this awkward silence between them really had gone on long enough.
With a reluctant sigh, he tucked his watch away and pushed the door open, stepping over the threshold. Well, if one of them was going to be the first to move things forward, he supposed it would have to be him.
“Tell me more,
About being creative.
What is it that you
Look out and see?”
Her head snapped around at the sound of his voice, expression startled, though soon turning into contempt at the sight of him.
“When gazing around,
And seeing ideas and
Inspiration.
How do you think, creatively?”
Her lips tilted down as she eyed him warily, no doubt suspicious of why he was trying to instigate a song about her interests – the last time they spoke properly, after all, he had insulted such a thing.
After a moment of consideration however – during which he resisted the temptation to call her out on wasting time – she seemed to decide he was worth the time to respond to.
“I just think like so,
It’s easy to be creative.
Maybe not for you
But it is for me.”
Jumping down from the table onto the floor, she twirled around to face him, hands clasped behind her back as she gave a sweet smile.
“I just use my mind
And think of an idea.
Draw it out on paper,
And it comes to be!”
He found his lips twitching upwards at her lyrics, but before he could respond, she was going on, walking towards him as she did so.
“But right now,
I’m wondering:
What do you want?
And, why is it you are here?
If you’ve come to destroy,
There’s nothing I’m afraid.
You’re wasting your time
I fear.”
Coming to a stop in front of him, she tilted her head back to meet his eyes, all traces of a smile now gone and replaced with contained anger. Out of the corner of his vision he could spot the pencil clenched in her hand, the lead sharp as always.
“I haven’t come to destroy anything.” He replied, now no longer singing. “Instead, I offer a truce.”
“A truce?” She cocked her head.
He considered his next words, and couldn’t believe what he was about to say – but if they wanted to make peace, one of them had to take responsibility.
“I came to apologise if I offended you in such a way that you no longer wished to speak with me. I didn’t realise ruining one of your art pieces would strike you so deeply.” The very words coming out of his mouth tasted wrong, but none the less he forced them out.
At his unexpected response, she blinked, taken by surprise. A moment passed by before she broke into a wide smile and emitted a giggle, stepping back and placing the pencil behind her ear. “Oh Tony, are you actually saying you’re sorry to me?
He glanced aside to avoid seeing the smug expression on her face, responding with only a noise in the back of his throat.
“Aw, you’re so sweet. I was thinking you’d never apologise! It goes to show that when I think creatively, I can make you just do about anything, can’t I?”
His head snapped back around at that, as he gaped at her. “You… You mean to say this was all a little plan of yours to make me apologise to your face!?”
“Well, not at first…” She chimed, placing a finger to her chin thoughtfully. “When you ruined my painting, I was positively fuming with anger and ready to impale you in the heart!~ But that soon passed, after all I could easily re-paint the thing if I wanted. I just thought this would be a fun way to creatively pass some time.” She grinned widely. “Wouldn’t you agree? The song we did between us was quite fun, you couldn’t form that without a creative mind now, could you?”
He glared at her, engulfed with embarrassment at the idea of her having bested him. She simply laughed at his expression, leaning forward to pinch his cheek before moving around him and leaving the room.
“I’ll see you at dinner!”
Hand resting on his sheathe, he vowed to slice up every piece of artwork she ever attempted to make in the future.
I was waiting on someone to say them, and you didn’t disappoint <3 And I am still working on the prompts bit by bit.
Who cooks:I like to imagine they both do. The edibility of Paige’s creations is questionable however, since she tends to add odd ingredients in that aren’t typically put into food. Tony prefers ready-to-cook meals you simply stick in the microwave since it saves on time - Paige argues that isn’t creative and refuses to eat such things.
Who does the laundry and other chores: Paige can do it, though she purposefully places red and white clothing together in the laundry since she likes how it turns the white items pink. Tony was not amused at having pink gloves. So yes, to put it short, that is Tony’s job.
How many children do they have:Well, since I personally view them as demi-god type of beings, I think of them as unable to procreate - at least in the normal means anyway. So zero.
Who’s more dominant:They’re on equals terms.
Favorite nonsexual activity:Mentally scarring Playing with the trio.
Their favourite place to be together:In the house alongside the other three, since all their fond memories lay in that place. :)
Any traditions:Does fighting one another only to then end up smooching and having sex count?
Their “song”:Well, since I made this video, I just automatically think of that song when in regards to them.
What they do for each other on holidays:Give each other presents which to anybody else would be horrifying but for the two of them, are thoughtful and beautiful.
Where did they go for their honeymoon:I can see them just remaining in their house for the honeymoon, setting one room aside which they don’t leave for almost an entire week and the sounds of laughter and other noises are just heard through the door. Manny, Harry and Robin keep far away from it.
Where did they first meet:In the house. The both of them took it upon themselves to teach the trio and invade their house, and they met there where they then proceeded to argue over who was there first and should be able to educate the three boys. In the end, they both stayed since neither refused to budge.
Any pets:Do the trio count?
What do they fight over:A lot of things, though 99% of the time their fights aren’t serious and simply something they do out of enjoyment. Their ideas on creativity and time clash a lot.
Do they go on vacations, if so where:Occasionally, to places with interesting history and sights to see. For example: China. Queue the both of them terrifying people on the Wall of China whilst Paige tries to draw creepy things on it and Tony talks on and on about the history of the wall and inevitably of it falling into ruin in the future.
