// Verse: A Beautiful Brain But It’s Disintegrated / Broken!Verse
Early in life, Genevieve has been impacted by the loss of her sister-- that she was close to-- due to a drowning accident, and the loss of her mother due to a hit-and-run. It put her in the mind-set that the people she cared about were going to get hurt. She often wondered how it would be grow up with her sister and her mother, and it left an emptiness inside of her. In her teenager years, she was diagnose with major depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Much like Genevieve’s defaulted verse, she wanted to practice law as an attorney. Unfortunately, she felt she wasn’t confident enough, and was ultimately the victim of self-doubt and low self-esteem. This caused her to put a pause to any college career and to go back home to Georgia with her family, to think about what she wanted for her future. However, this caused a strain between her and her father, as he thought it would be best for her to simply work in the family restaurant, as seeing that college may be too stressful for her. She decided that she was not getting the support that she needed, and left back to college within the next year.
Instead of law, Genevieve majored in astronomy, a subject that she adored and wouldn’t require to much socializing. After college, she became a research technician in a laboratory in Detroit, studying the stars and constellations-- attempting to find something new in the universe. But, of course, being a research technician in such a field sometimes has their down and outs. So, she is employed part-time at the DPD as records clerk. She only works there on some days, and not every week-- Although, she tries to get more shifts when she isn’t getting any work at the laboratory. She prefers private places to work, but the DPD position was available, and she wouldn’t have to deal with too many people for too long.
She likes astronomy, but she always feels lacking and feels as if she had failed in her dreams. Currently, she is stuck in a relationship of abuse with Louis-- Though, she is not married to him. Still, he somehow hangs on to her. She isn’t confident enough to leave him, she hardly has many friends that would tell her to steer away from him. Many times, she has came to work with bruises and scratches, but she chose to ignore it. Besides, she feels that maybe she deserved it. A failure, such as herself, must have done something wrong to deserve such treatment.
