thriftear in the broken code
very very quickly flipping through the broken code arc to scrape for thriftear content and truly realised how shitty it must've been in that time period.
the whole bramblestar dying being replaced by ashfur happens, and while that's happening, her sister goes code-crazy (literally chastizing her for not thanking starclan for a good hunt.) and becomes the deputy despite being like. a year old.
then later on, lionblaze becomes deputy, and co-erced her to just...let him kill bramblestar/ashfur.
("He broke into a run, pushing past Thriftear as she stepped forward to block his way." Darkness Within.)
then when squirrelflight- ( i forget context here, she was exiled and faked her death to trick ashfur/bramblestar I think. and with ashfur/bramblestar dying she'd be the true thunderclan leader and everyone was like. anti-squirrelflight. *INCLUDING THRIFTEAR*
("She's [Squirrelflight] argued for so long against allowing Bramblestar's body to be killed--does any cat really believe she just had a change of heart?"..."Yeah," Thriftear agreed. "She only cares about Bramblestar, not our clan." The Place of No Stars. pg. 28)
She also exiles herself from ThunderClan after Bramblestar gives the initiative to do so, as well as this tid bit of info from Bristlefrost;
"He even looked a bit like her and her littermates.. she could see Flippaw in the shape of his eyes, Thriftpaw in the seriousness of his gaze." (Lost Stars, describing Shadowpaw.)
and as we know; ivypool, thriftear's mother, is now deputy do you understand the potential here. the anti-authorityand anger and distrust at the politics and clan life in general, thriftear must've felt. does that affect anything she does currently? anything at all.
