Go go Power Rangers!

If you haven’t seen Broken Path aka Broken Fist aka Attack of the Yakuza you need to get right on that. It’s basically a 90 minute fight scene. Honestly...the plot-to-fight ratio is mental. The final fight features two ex-Power Rangers going at it: Johnny Yong Bosch and Dan Southworth. And they don’t fuck around. The whole film was just Alpha Stunts putting on a show for the audience. Just “Let’s see how often and how well we can fight.” Considering its budget, it’s one of the more memorable of the “second tier” modern martial arts films.

You can buy it on Amazon.co.uk here for FIVE QUID. That’s a goddamn steal. You can get the German Blu Ray version of it on Amazon.com but it’s almost $40. Worth it but maybe not if you haven’t seen it.

It’s been a while since I’ve talked about this film so I thought I’d make another post about it. “Broken Path” is basically a 90 minute fight scene starring Johnny Yong Bosch. Yup, the old Black Ranger from Power Rangers. I still can’t believe how overlooked this film is. It came and went and nobody gave a fuck about it. But I’m telling you, if you want a non-stop martial arts film with quality choreography and some seriously brutal action scenes, it’s well worth picking this up. in fact, it’s currently £1.48 on Amazon.co.uk. and that’s with Prime. So, you UK folks can literally shell out two quid and get a really good martial arts film. US folks, it’ll cost you about $3 with a little extra for shipping and handling. Well worth the purchase, I’m telling you. You can buy it here where it’s known as “Broken Fist”. It’s a bit like a home invasion horror film (”You’re Next”) only with a shitload more kung fu. Go on...buy it.

It isn’t exactly the best quality in the world, but here’s a series of fights from the middle of the massively underrated (and hard to find) “Broken Path” aka “Broken Fist”. The film stars ex-Power Ranger Johnny Yong Bosch (it also features another ex-Ranger, Dan Southworth) and the entire thing is basically one long fight scene. It never got a release in the US but I was lucky enough to pick a copy up for two quid ($3.50?) when in the UK a few years ago. I definitely recommend it for fight fans. The acting isn’t exactly stellar, there’s pretty much zero plot but there is fight after fight after fight and it’s all super brutal and amazingly choreographed. Well worth the watch if you can track it down.
