I've taken on a more 'go with the flow' approach with Grayce than I have with any other RP muse of mine. And it has led to some of the best character development I think I've ever had in a character. Just because I realized, that naturally we want to try and make our character look great. But what if they weren't always perfect?
A example.
Grayce was being taught to cast arc lightning by a couple high ranking members of the Kirin Tor, at this point she was still 19, and a great evocist for sure, but probably not quite ready for lightning. They went to the twisting nether where spells don't cost as much to cast, because of the mana surrounding them, so when she cast lightning she succeeded! But, her Spell-Foci, her staff, cracked from the powerful spell. I could have had her succeed in casting it, and everything would've been fine. But instead by having her succeed, but still fail to a degree, I created more interesting character interactions around her, I created a greater need for her to get a new Spell-Foci, which ended up leading to a legendary style quest of gathering components with her friends to forge the sword, and then created interesting interactions with the higher ups in the Kirin Tor, that wouldn't have happened if I -hadn't- chose to do that. So I guess with Grayce, the best path forward, that paints her in the best light, isn't always the best. And I love the development I've gotten from it.
