✶Broken Through – a full length psychological story rich horror game that blends terrifying scenarios with dreamish visuals and nostalgic retro theme.
Your best friend Leo Williams has been missing for 7 years, and for so many years no one could find even the smallest clues about his mysterious disappearance. Seven years later, he was declared dead, never being found. And now you are in possession of his belongings, everything seems normal, except for one box… Something says he's still out there, and many of them too.
"Jackie. I need you to calm down, and breathe for me, okay? In for four, hold for seven, out for eight. It's alright. You're not weak. We all make dumb decisions sometimes. You did what you thought was right, and the good thing is that you saw the error in your ways. You now know better. And that, that's what makes you strong." I rub his back. "Can I give you a hug?" -Violet
Jackie sits back up and breath like you told him. In for 4, hold for 7, and out for 8. He does this a few more times as you continue talking to him. You can tell he’s calmed down more now. You see him blush a little when you call him strong.
At your request, he hesitates for a second before wrapping you in a hug. “I just want to know my brothers are gonna be alright.”

Barney Grey:
He only reached Level 32 - Despair. Barney has been missing the longest (Since January 5, 1992). Yet he has barely made any progress compared to the others. Barney has given up and accepted his fate to either end up dead or stuck in another level.
Despair is portrayed as this long endless maze with no way out.
Yet there is an exit. It’s red glowing and right behind Barney but he can’t bring himself to move forward.
After all what’s the point?
Carlos Bull:
He reached Level ??? - Dementia. Carlos been missing for nine years (Since September 12, 1993). He mentions he feels lost. His room is void and almost completely empty.
Carlos is unable to remember where he is, but once Evan plays the record, he regains some of his memories. We see life (represented through nature) is brought back to Carlos.
Dave Owens:
He reached Level 125 - Depression. Dave has been missing for eight years (Since May 3, 1994). His level features a house in the middle of the foggy woods.
The location reflects the way he isolates himself. While the fog represents his depression clouding his mind.
Also, if we use nature in Carlos’ level as a metaphor for life, it’s interesting how all the trees in Dave's level are in the far distance. Reflecting how Dave isolates himself inside the house from all other life AKA people.
Leo Williams:
He is located at Level ERROR - Grandson’s Safe Zone. Leo has been missing for seven years (Since March 2, 1995). Despite never being found he’s been declared dead.
Leo’s level has him fixated on his grave. He’s terrified of being forgotten. Everyone moving on while he’s still here.
I frown. "I found it... kinda. I searched around before coming here, and found it. I saw Jamie before I came here, actually. He signed some things... more specifically the word 'cat'". I give him all the information I know. Who knows what will be useful. -Violet
Jackie’s face lightens up. “You saw Jamie! So he’s going to be okay!” Jackie smiles and laughs to himself, it’s like a kid just found out he was going to disneyland.
Jackie listens to the rest of what you tell him. “Cat,” He repeats. “Hmm, well that just makes me think of Marvin. Did he give you anything?”
I tentatively place a hand on his shoulder. I'm not sure if he'll like it, but I know he needs comfort. "Jackie. It's going to be okay, okay? I've seen this before. Jamie will be fine. You'll all be fine. But, you need to apologize. Even if you think it won't work, it will. And, go check up with Jamie and the Doc. Please." -Violet
You can tell that the hero can hear you. He seems so scared, as his eyes dart from you, back down the hall where he can hear the beeping of a heart monitor. “I just feel so weak right now, I don’t know who to trust anymore!” His body falls forward and he pulls at his green locks letting out a frustrated grunt.
The hero takes a few shaky breaths, but he seems to be calming down now. “I can’t believe I tried to kick him out of his own home! What the hell is wrong with me?”
