I feel exceptionally honored to be a part of the Broken Free project. It is not often that I/we are encouraged by society to truly be our authentic selves at all costs. Unapologetically, whether it makes others and especially ourselves uncomfortable. Especially when touching on sexual abuse, rape, physical abuse, etc. are part of the equation. It is most certainly one hell of a process but in that process we have the opportunity to create art, to love deeply, to express our truth, to transform pain into beauty and compassion and to empower by simply being ourselves. Thank you so much to @paopaokat for allowing me to share my little nugget of this human experience, for taking these beautiful photos and giving me the opportunity to be reminded of my experiences and that not only am I not bound by them but in continuing this ever so awkward and uncomfortable process I am ALIVE and FREE. #BrokenFreeProject #BrokenFree
