Cyclist in a flat

I live in an 11th floor flat and my bikes live in my flat. Recently the lift in my flat broke. I actually got stuck in the lift for 30 minutes which was pretty stressful but actually not the most stressful aspect of this. My bike was clearly stranded in my flat while the lift was broken which was pretty inconvenient considering it is generally my main mode of transport.

After a week of the broken lift situation, I got up on the Friday and the first thing I did was go out of my flat to see if it was working. It was, woohoo! So I get all ready to cycle to a friend’s house for a breakfast date but when I get out into the corridor with my bike it was no longer working. Furious, and tired of not being able to cycle, I decided the best thing to do would be to carry my bike down the stairs. This is Sasha, my trusty, but pretty heavy hybrid bike. I carried her down 11 flights of stairs. It was not fun. At all. But at least she was liberated. Mostly I love my flat but being on the 11th floor when the lift is broken is a pain!
