The state i find bro in when he’s says he’s about to hop on the game
More baby robbie for my soul
I feel like he doesn’t cry much except for at night, where he wails and wails for hours on end, it drives clayson up the wall whilst sammy sleeps through it like a rock. Not like it mattered because sammy is awful at getting babies to sleep (he’s better with toddlers)
one time it got so bad clayson started crying too because he just wanted to rest
uhhh clayson cannibalizes someone while sammy’s chilling or something
“Why did you even wanna come with me?” He asked, staring down at me with a squinted eye. “Well, y’know, we haven’t really done any sort of run together for a while now, have we?” I smiled, staring up at him with my usual “friendly” expression. “Sure, whatever. I still don’t believe you in the slightest.” He mumbled.
We had been here for a while now, perhaps around an hour? However long, I clearly hadn’t had enough to eat beforehand, the bright lights and loud stirring of the elevator making my head throb painfully, and my legs were tired and felt heavy, but I didn’t want Sammy to have to deal with me while he’s busy looking out for Twisteds. I couldn’t help but bring my hand up to my forehead, rubbing slightly in a feeble attempt to ease the aching.
I don’t think Sammy noticed, or if he did, he didn’t care, as he quickly exited the elevator the moment it opened. I had barely taken a few steps before I couldn’t see a thing. Right… that happens sometimes. At first I was quite pissed off. I hate black outs, not just because it’s harder to avoid Twisteds, but because I keep bumping into things and hurting myself, though at least this time it came with a pleasant surprise, seeing a red glow in the distance. Brightney, just what we’d been looking for.
I was about to call out for Sammy, though I realized it’s a bad idea, potentially alerting any other Twisted to me is not the greatest tactic. I’ll just search for machines, he’ll find her on his own eventually anyways.
I stumbled around, holding my arms as far out in front of me as I could, trying my best not to run into a wall or some other unseen object. I dragged my feet across the floor, until I finally bumped into a machine. Grabbing the valve, I began to turn it slowly, stopping every once in a while to look left and right, in case something might be shuffling around nearby. I leaned my head against the machine, feeling the cold glass on my forehead helped a tiny bit…
I jumped slightly hearing the pling! of the machine’s completion, and I looked up to stare at the green light. That was much faster than I expected… have I gotten better at extraction? I thought. I shouldn’t dwell on it though, it’s best to start looking for a second machine.
I began searching again, until I heard the sounds of flesh splattering, then metal scraping across the floor behind a wall. I turned the corner to see a low, fading light being dragged away, and likely back towards the elevator. I couldn’t stop myself from following. I tried not to trip over my own feet as I approached Sammy, peeking at the corpse in his arms.
“It’s a free floor, I saw Rodger’s capsule earlier.” He sighed, slumping onto the floor, back pressed against a wall. I noticed his leg, covered in a new wound, bleeding.
“You alright…? I have some bandaids here if you want them…” I asked, reaching into my front pocket, pulling out two pastel blue boxes, holding them out in front of him. “…Thanks, Clayson.” He smiled tiredly, grabbing them out of my hand, before fixing up his injury. As he did, I sat down between him and the corpse, its light still flickering faintly.
I dragged it closer to me, grabbing hold of its arm, preparing to tear it off.
“Does that even taste good?” He asked, leaning closer to me, as I looked up at him. “Not really…” I mumbled shyly. “Can… can I try some? Just like… a finger, or something.”
…What?
“You… huh?” I was admittedly caught off-guard, I had never quite taken Sammy as someone who tries new things. Let alone… this. “Uh, yeah, if it’s fine with you, that is.” He scooted a little closer, his eye gleaming nervously.
I didn’t know how to respond, so I quietly tore off one of its hands. “…Open wide, I suppose” I hardly looked at him as he snatched it with his mouth, before just as quickly spitting it out onto the floor.
“Eugh, how do you even tolerate that stuff? Just tastes like burnt toast and cigarettes!” He laughed, while also scraping his tongue against his teeth, clearly trying to get rid of the taste. I watched him for a while. I felt weird inside. When was the last time I’d seen him smile like that?
“W-Well it’s less about the flavour, it’s more about—“ “Yeah, yeah, whatever,” He cut me off dismissively, his hand waving in my face as per usual. I was nervous. Why was I so nervous? It’s not like this was a secret to him…
I tried to ignore him, tearing off the rest of the limb, and biting into it, the bitter taste filling my mouth immediately as I ripped a chunk out with my teeth. “…You’re making a mess! You’re gonna be drenched in Ichor!” He laughed again, his hand reaching to wipe some off of my face. “Sammy, stop that! I can clean myself you know?” “Sure, sure…”
…
We went on like this for a while, me trying to eat peacefully, and Sammy smothering me every two seconds. I finished eating, leaving more than half of the corpse discarded. Despite finally getting some nutrients, I could still feel the pain in my head, and I didn’t feel like getting up, even as I watched Sammy beginning to rise to his feet. I grabbed at his sleeve, tugging slightly.
“Hey, Sammy? Could we maybe just… sit for a while longer?” I asked, smiling awkwardly at him. Everything was always so awkward with him. “Oh, you uh… don’t wanna go back up?” He tilted his head at me, looking a bit confused. “Not yet at least…” “If you say so…”
I watched him slump back down next to me, before I felt his arm slithering around my shoulder, bringing me closer to him. I leaned against his side, feeling just how cold he was. It was a nice kind of cold. A refreshing kind.
I listened to his breathing, and placed my hand on his chest, feeling it rise and fall. For once in his life it was slow, pretty much relaxed. I can’t remember the last time we were relaxing together.
It was quiet and dark, something that I probably should’ve done expected to make me feel sleepy, though I didn’t notice until I felt my eyelids getting heavy. I tried desperately to keep them open, though it was pretty much no use…
…
When I woke up I still felt tired, but at least my headache was gone. I sat up, looking around, at first I was confused, then I realized I was alone in our bedroom.
He carried me all the way here…?
I saw a little sticky note on the nightstand, so I reached over and grabbed it. “If you’re reading this, I’m already out on another run, there’s pancakes in the fridge. If no one stole them, that is :)
PS: The kids are all out with friends, don’t worry about them”
I lay back down while staring at the note. Maybe things aren’t as bad between us as I thought.
Basically just a random BrokenPottery one shot of them being awkward as fuck and not really wanting to be around each other (they aren’t always like this i swear)
Not proofread because fuck you EVEN THOUGHT I SHOULDVE FUCK
Originally planned to be them being cute and sweet but I was filled with indifference and boredom so I took away their happiness
I listened to the soft humming of the microwave, heating up leftovers from yesterday. I told myself I’d stop getting midnight snacks, but I can’t always help myself, can I? Hah…
…
It was odd. He should’ve been back by now. I didn’t even ask for much this time. I stared blankly towards the hallway that lead to the large elevator. Waiting to hear the loud sound of it winding open then slamming shut. Waiting to see the bright lights illuminating the hallway. Though nothing seemed to— *Beep! Beep!*
I jumped slightly at the sound of the microwave. Nearly forgot how loud it always is. I quickly opened it to stop the beeping, hopefully stopping it from waking anyone up, especially the kids. I didn’t wanna deal with having to put them back to bed… not tonight.
I didn’t bother with basic etiquette, I’m alone in here anyways was my excuse, as I scarfed down the hot spaghetti, sometimes chewing with my mouth open due to the heat. I probably should’ve eaten slower, my stomach churning as I stood up, placing the empty dish into the already overflowing sink.
“So much for table manners,” a familiar voice mocked behind me.
I nearly screamed, not having expected him to come from the stairwell. “Jeez Sammy…” I mumbled, turning around to see him more clearly, squinting into the darkness, “don’t do that again, seriously…” I sighed, eyebrows furrowing as I noticed him rolling his eye. “Sorry for taking so long, couldn’t find what you wanted so I gave up.” He muttered, hand waving dismissively at me as he began walking away. “There’s no way you couldn’t find—“ “I’m heading to bed. Goodnight.”
I stared at him for a few seconds watching him walk away… right past the bedroom. I blinked a few times, is he that tired? Is what I thought at first, but it made more sense when he made his way towards the couch. I followed closely behind, only staring more as he prepared to lie down.
“Why are you sleeping on the couch?” I asked, my eyes meeting his for the first time in a while. “Why not? It’s comfy enough to sleep on.” “What about our bed?”
He blinked slowly, thinking about it. “Yeah it would beat the couch but…” he looked around, barely even glancing at me as he seemed hesitant to continue. “Is this about me?” I asked once more, and he didn’t respond, though to me, it felt like a yes. “You know you’re welcome to—“ “I know, I know, just don’t wanna be taking up too much space. That’s all.” He mumbled, despite his words, I noticed his gaze lingering on the bedroom door. In all honesty, I couldn’t remember the last time I’d seen him sleep on a proper bed, it’s no wonder he was so tired all the time…
“You shouldn’t worry about that, Sammy. Seriously, don’t worry.” I snickered slightly. I don’t even know why. “So… you wanna switch then?” He responded blankly, one eyebrow raised. “Oh— uh— no I was thinking… me and you, perhaps… sleeping together? Like we used to?” I smiled awkwardly, clasping my hands together. He glared at me for a hot second, before standing up abruptly and trudging towards our bedroom, not bothering to even respond in words. Okay then… how polite…
I wasn’t far behind, standing in the doorway as I watched him hastily tear his dirty gloves and boots off. It looked like he was about to take his shirt off too until he noticed me, though it took me a second to understand why he was glaring. “Oh come on,” I scoffed, stepping closer, “we’ve seen each other naked before, it’s not like there’s anything to see—” “Can you just stop staring?” “…Right.”
I averted my eyes, deciding to climb into bed, getting under the soft blanket while waiting for Sammy, and I’d finally get my satisfaction as I felt the weight of the mattress shift, pulling us closer to each other. “That’s better isn’t it? Much better than that sad couch.” I smiled, finding myself scooting even closer. “Guess so… we haven’t done this in a while…” he mumbled, as I felt an arm wrapping around me. I wrapped mine around him in response, staring into his eyes, though he seemed to have no interest in meeting my gaze, simply staring at the wall.
“You see anything interesting?” I asked jokingly, just… trying to make some small talk I guess. It was all so awkward. “No… nothing in particular…” He finally responded, blinking a few times before looking at me, still no eye contact, but at least he was looking at me. I felt him shifting around a bit, before I felt a slight nudge to my forehead, coupled with a soft clink. “I—“ “I’m just gonna try to sleep. Don’t talk to me.” He muttered. Right. Sure. Whatever you say. “Me too. Goodnight, I suppose.” I responded quietly.
…
How long had it been? A few hours? I still hadn’t even been close to drifting off, but Sammy had slipped away long ago, snoring loudly in my face while his arm was draped over me. I don’t think I’ve ever regretted anything more. Ugh…
I quietly and carefully pushed his hand off of me, trying not to wake him, as I slipped off the mattress, and went to leave the bedroom. I stepped away from our room, and back over to the couch, throwing myself onto it.
