Decennia. Decennia had passed ere he had last laid eyes upon Rivendell. Under other circumstances, he would have never paid attention to the passage of time - after all, fair Imladris was almost unchangeable, rising from the valley majestically and eternally. It didn't matter whether he had visited an age ago, or only weeks. She would always be there.
This time was different though. When he had returned to his home, he had not only left behind an elven city, but a mortal child as well. Estel. Gilraen's son. Mortals grew quickly. Would he be able to talk already? Perhaps even walk?
Suddenly impatiently, Legolas spurred his stallion forward, and not much later, he entered the domain of lord Elrond.
