Hanahaki makes me really uncomfortable. Just the idea that feeling love for someone is a death sentence if it's not returned can be really toxic imo. Also the idea that love is a disease that can be cured or something. Idk. I just don't like it very much

I feel you on that. I’m honestly surprised that more folks don’t feel that way about it. I guess bc it’s fictional people don’t think about it that deeply, but I deff get what you mean. I know my fics may not always be fluff, but as a reader, I want my ship fics to be about getting together, and while lite angst is okay, I just can’t do stuff that heavy. It weighs on my heart and isn’t fun for me.
