Brolin week 3: Day 7 - A New Brolin Project
“You did what?” Colin asked. He had heard it the first time but he couldn't quite believe it – not even when Bradley looked at him with the stupid, eager grin on his face. Instead of a verbal answer Bradley handed him the map of papers he had been holding in his hands. Colin received it and doubtfully looked at the cover letter.
Really, Bradley, really? Colin skimmed through the pages absently and then looked at Bradley again. He had that stupid shine on his face as he waited for Colin’s approval. Colin groaned and ran his fingers through his hair.
“You rewrote the script for Pride and Prejudice?” Colin asked this time and Bradley nodded. He sat on the sofa next to Colin and took the script back like it was his greatest treasure. Colin couldn't believe it. “That’s what you've been working on all this time since Merlin ended?”
“Well not all this time”, Bradley quickly defended himself. He was clearly rather hurt by the lack of excitement on Colin’s part. “First I had to choose the script and then do loads of research… but yes, then I rewrote the script for Pride and Prejudice.
“But it’s good, I promise! I already showed it to few agencies and they liked it. It’s good Cols, just believe me. And I wrote the main role thinking of you, and Mr Darcy for myself. This way we can have another project together again. It’s good, isn't it?”
Bradley was starting to sound almost pleading. He was obviously holding on to his idea as a great treasure and expecting Colin to agree with him. Colin thought it was the most ridiculous thing he had ever heard and yet he was touched to the root of his heart. Bradley might be an idiot but he had a damn good heart. Colin knew their time had been divided since Merlin because he was now so busy with all the new projects, so having Bradley think of a solution as such was pretty amazing. Finally Colin smiled and soothed Bradley’s worrying heart with soft and gentle and perfect kiss.
“I believe we end up happy together this time, am I right, Mr Darcy?” Colin asked, trying out a perfect upper class accent. He cocked an eyebrow and laughed. Bradley beamed at him and just seeing his face light up like that made Colin know for sure that this would be a good, wonderful thing.
