Merlin rewatch -- S4E13: The Sword in the Stone 2

EPIC!

“Where have you been!?”

I think this line is what does it. Bradley’s delivery was perfect. It's loud, and brash, and from the heart. It instantly breaks the grim and self-pity/self-loathing air (from both Arthur and Merlin) from previous scenes, and shed light on their simple friendship. Nothing else matters at this moment except for Arthur’s worrying about Merlin.

“Were you worried about me?”

I like how Colin played it too. When Merlin enters the scene he is still in the emotion of previous scene—sad, guilty, kind of menacing as well?—but then Arthur shows up, and says that, and very quickly the darkness on his face fades and he is able to respond in a light tone, It’s lovely.

"Alright, it's true. I came back because you're the only friend I have and I couldn't bear to lose you."

And what tops it all was that Arthur admits it!! That he is worried and that Merlin is his only friend!!

Sometimes I get overwhelmed from looking at Arthur’s face and have to pause the show, get that away from me it’s too bright too handsome it should be fucking illegal tbh
