From Jan Fischer on the Historic Paleoart FB group:
"Once upon a time, some (non-avian) dinosaurs were thought to have survived into the Paleogene. Here is a reconstruction of a Brontornis burmeisteri trying to demonstrate its predatory lifestyle to a hadrosaur (probably Edmontosaurus).
The drawing comes from: Bommeli, R. (1921): Riesen und Drachen der Vorzeit [Giants and Dragons of prehistoric times]. Publisher J. H. W. Dietz Nachfolger, Stuttgart: 100 pp.
The drawing is a clear adaptation of a similar, colored motif by F. John (1902), sheet 16 from the art sheet collection Tiere der Urwelt [Animals of the primeval world] - Series 1, Kakao-Compagnie Theodor Reichardt, Hamburg Wandsbek."
