The Fire-Moon Is Live On Amazon

For $1.99, which means I’m only getting thirty-five percent of the royalties for it, so I’d encourage you to buy it on Smashwords instead if you have a choice—still.  Here it is, and any sales are deeply appreciated.

I know that on Smashwords and any of the stores that got it from Smashwords, like Apple and Barnes & Noble, you can download a free sample.  I think that on Amazon, you have to leaf through and read it online, but there’s still some ability to preview the book before you decide to by it.  I encourage everyone to do that.  And, of course, if you want more samples of my writing, there’s “Quantum Writer” and there’s my fanfic, which reminds me that I’ve got to move another story over to AO3 this morning.  Anyhow.  Enjoy.

I feel like I should point out . . .

That you can download the first part of The Fire-Moon as a free sample.  (If this is not working, message me and I’ll fix it.)  But anyhow, the point is, you can read the first part of the story for free and figure out if you like it or not.

Given the number of people who downloaded Quantum Writer, I feel that “free stuff” is probably a pretty popular option.  (Although I still need to figure out how to get more people to see my stuff.  Maybe I’ll see if facebook ads are remotely workable . . . I dunno.)

The Fire-Moon up for pre-order at . . .

. . . Barnes & Noble and Kobo, as well as Smashwords, which is sort of the hub I’m releasing it from.  Still unsure about Apple, which is not cooperating with my searches, and Scribd, which requires a subscription.  Still, this makes me happy.  More distribution channels, yay!

Welp, I’ve gone and gotten a Smashwords account

Obviously there’s nothing on it yet, but I should have Bronze Moon up for pre-order sometime this week.  After that, I’ll start wrestling with Amazon.)

Well, now I have to make a decision, dammit

So, a novella I had out at Tor got rejected, after something like six months.  Boo.

Now that it’s no longer in the submission queue, I can tidy up the formatting and put it up at Smashwords!  Yay!

But I already had plans to launch my novel at Smashwords during the same general time frame.  Hmm.

So now I need to make up my mind which thing I want to prioritize: the novella I already have edited, or the novel I need to edit.  I don’t suppose there’s any particular benefit to starting with a novel rather than a novella . . . Either way, I should be getting two stories up on Smashwords this summer, not just one.  I just need to figure out which to publish first.

There are worse dilemmas.  For the record, the novel is far future science fiction, whereas the novella is fantasy set in someplace vaguely based on ancient Egypt (in the same way that a lot of fantasy is set somewhere vaguely based on Europe).  The novel is Echoes of the Ancients; the novella is Bronze Moon.  Sooner or later, I’ll be publishing both of them.

That The Fire-Moon is up for pre-order at apple’s iBooks.  Unfortunately, I don’t think I can link to it, because it requires the iBooks application to get to.

Still nothing from Inktera; I’m thinking they may not participate in the whole pre-order game.

My husband thinks that “The Fire-Moon” is a cooler title

So the first novella I publish is going to be called The Fire-Moon, not Bronze Moon, which was the working title.  I’ll tag news with both tags.

I went to Space NK and brought back some By Terry Ombre Blackstar's with me. See which ones I bought and what I think!
